I see TB as the top team again, no shocker.
I see Boston and Toronto as neck and neck, basically a coin flip as to who finishes ahead. (assuming Marner is in the lineup)

Remind me again why Florida got wayyyy better?

Montreal is decent, but I dont see them beating out the top 3

Not Toronto.

You are looking at your glass of blue koolaid as half empty.

In the summer, it is always half full.

This year, we have a better back-up goalie ust don't know who yet, a full season of Nylander after an outstanding world championship run, a full year of Muzzin, No Zaitsev or Gardiner, Clarkson is back in town, .....

Leafs are a wild card team at best next season.

I dont see us passing Tampa, and Boston. Florida got wayyyy better and Montreal had a strong finish last year that they'll likely carry over to this season with a healthy Weber.

Ugh, well hopefully we can dump everyone at the trade deadline to get a better pick then; should've done that last year because Hughes would look good right now in the 1C hole.

I know the odds do not favor Montreal.

But they were 4 points back of the Leafs last season.

The difference between making the playoffs and missing them is ridiculously small.

For the first time in forever they have a top goalie in Bobrovsky who statistically throughout his career has a bad year followed by a good year etc etc. Last year he had a down year, expect him to be Vezina like this year.

They added to their D core. Stralman is no slouch. And lets not forget coach Q. He will grab that room by the balls i guarantee it.

you can say what you want, but the fact is that the leafs didn't get better....the teams ahead of you also stayed the same, while the teams chasing you got better......on paper, Boston and Tampa are still better teams overall, and teams like Fla and Mon are catching up.......like i said, anything can happen, but i don't see the leafs as one of the teams to beat for the cup.....playoff lock, absolutely, but i dont' think they have good enough D to make a deep playoff run

Coach will likely make the biggest difference imo. Stralman has lost a few strides.

Should be an interesting season. Perhaps 2 wild card teams from the Atlantic.

Nothing you're saying really excites me about FLA.

Bob is a coin toss.

Stralman is old and broken.

Q, we'll see.

Rumours of a Marner bridge deal for around 9 mill for 2-3 years can’t be true right?

Not trolling here, honestly asking, no leaf fan can think this is a good deal right?

I honestly hope some GM’s around the league have the balls to not cave and actually let a player sit out the whole year rather than give them a deal that pays them more or at least close to what they would get on a long term deal but give it to them on a bridge.

I’m a jets fan and hope Chevy lets Laine and Connor sit the whole year rather than cave and over pay. Let’s see what Roslovic and Vesalainen can do in their spots.

I think Leafs are better by addressing defence. Babcock will have to up his game with potential replacements breathing down his neck, I wasn't a Kadri fan because of lack of discipline.

Tampa is definitely the class of the Atlantic and made some nice cheap moves.

Boston is just an injury or lick away from dropping.

if Bob is a coin toss, than the leafs goaltending is also a coin toss.

last year Bob had what could be considered a "statistically down year" and his numbers were virtually identical to Andersen, who had arguably his best year as a pro.

Jets have had a tough off season. Sitting them for the year is an interesting tanking strategy.

I heard a rumour it was an aav of 10 million with the 3rd year paying him 15 million. That way the qualifying offer had to be minimum 12.5 a year or something like that. Leafs declined it.

Again just a rumour.

how have the leafs addressed defence?

Barrie is basically Gardiner 2.0......i get that Gardiner is the leafs fans favorite whipping boy, and Barrie is the new toy, but if you can't see that they're basically the same player, you're either blind, or just a massive homer

Ceci and Harpur are arguably the 2 worst dmen in the entire league

how exactly is your D corps better?

Bobrovsky is one of the 5 best goaltenders in the league. A huge upgrade overa 40 year old Luongo and James (frank)ing Reimer.

Barrie is similar to Gardiner defensively but he's better offensively. I see it as an upgrade.... probably not as big as some do around here but an upgrade nonetheless.

Ceci does suck though, that is 100% confirmed and true.

Leafs biggest upgrade might come from within with guys like Dermott (once he comes back from injury) and Sandin making their mark.

I think their off season is being blown way over board. Trouba is a loss, no doubt! But Myers, Chairot and Tanev are all easily replaceable. We were and still are one of the youngest teams with lots of guys itching for more playing time. I’m more concerned with Maurice and his same old boring systems and lines, not worried about the players
