Green in an interview was talking about Petey and what he liked about him was that he was able to play in all 3 zones. That is what Goldy has to show to stay in a Green line-up.

Was reading the latest Canucksarmy prospect report on Lukas Jasek. Comment made in there about "not having top tier NHL talent" in Utica to help players like Jasek.

Players like Petey and Hughes top tier NHL talent will most likely never be in Utica.

The vets Utica had weren't the best and they did upgrade them a little over the summer.

Isn't it more up to the prospects themselves?

Wouldn't playing with top tier talent in the AHL just mask a prospects problems when it came time to the NHL and most likely won't be playing with the same top tier talent.

I guess what I'm getting at here is that I think the prospects need to step up and be the leaders if they are going to make the NHL. They need to bring up their linemates not the other way around.

in an ideal world every prospect could easily adjust to the pro game and overcome adversity but realistically for some it takes time. whether they are coming from europe with more space or juniors with weaker opponents i think there are a lot of adjustments to take on at one time and having someone lessen the burden imo makes a difference

obviously if the prospect is still unable to figure it out after 2 seasons then there are issues but i dont think its alarming that ahl rookies/sophomores struggle without some skill around
