Agree with you about Bracco. He has a chance to make a contribution and was selected 61st in the same year Marner and Dermott were selected. I like the fact that more players selected later in the draft, have a chance, it shows significant organizational improvement. The fact that Johnsson a 7th rounder is on the club and Engvall another 7th rounder has a chance supports this as well.

They wrote off Kapanen before he played an NHL game too. Take it with a grain of salt

Like Kapanen, and Kadri before that, Bracco may have to grow up a bit before he enjoys any success. My biggest take away from seeing him a few times in junior was that he was lazy and soft.

Players do develop though, so let's see what he has in the next couple years.

Guys like Bracco really need to be in the top 6 to flourish, by playing with shooters and line drivers.

Over time though, he could probably fill in on a depth role (particularly if our bottom 6 continues to be built around tertiary scoring) once he rounds out the rest of his game.

Having said that, playing with Spezza on the 4th line would probably be ok for a short stint this year, give him some NHL minutes.

yup.

i'm hopeful bracco has kapanen level of success in him.

his ahl numbers should lead you to being optimistic about him being a 2nd/3rd liner playe imo.
