Gonna have to disagree with you there. TVR over Faulk any day of the week.

Nurse- Larsson (2017-18, they combined for strong numbers)
Klefbom- Benning (results together indicate positive impact in most ways)
Legs/Jones- TVR (TVR has excelled as a sheltered 3RD)
Russell (the press box likely helps him soften his no-trade list)

While that's a valid argument, I think it undervalues what we should aim to get out of a Puljujarvi trade.

You bring up some good points, however, in the limited time TVR has played with Hamilton and Pesce in what I assume can only be in a top 4 role (5v5 metrics via naturalstatrick), he posted some really solid numbers last year and the year before with Pesce, Slavin, and especially with Hanifin. When separated from them, he still continued to post similar possession numbers or better. I will admit that in the previous year (2018-2019) he looked a little out of place at times via the eye test. However, he still continued to post positive possession metrics nonetheless.

Therefore, having Benning and TVR could be a good way at covering up that top 4 spot in case either fail. Not to mention it'll give up solid depth down the lineup in case of injuries, as both have proven to be versatile in terms of deployment. I think this is the best way to cover that spot until Bouchard, Jones, or Samorukov are ready without costing us significant assets.

Lastly, how much value does JP have at this point? It seems that he has no interest whatsoever in signing with the Oilers. So if I had to revise that deal, TVR + Julien Gauthier + conditional pick (we get it if TVR doesn't resign with us) for JP? Bingo, if you're out there, would you do that?

It was pretty tough to watch,but managed to catch pieces here and there...Bouchard was hands down THE talent on the ice...Samarukov played with kind of a wild side,but could be a real gem..

Benson overall was decent....had flashes but at times not so much.....Bouchard was the best player on the ice......Logan Day was good.....they played Maksimov with McLeod and that makes me happy......it’s only one game but I’m not sure if a Sammy-Bouchard pairing would be the best thing right away....maybe play them with AHL vets at first then go from there....Safin looked good too.....I’m currently more excited about the Condors then the Oilers
