What he's not a fan of is him sounding like he doesn't want to be there. This is how a captain should feel. If you don't want to be here, good riddance.
- TheSabresTaco

"I'm not Jason, doing Jason's job."

That's a "get him out of here" plea

We've seen enough half assed hockey. I agree with him

ROR was good

Risto is not

There is a big difference

You can be right about the prima donnas in the locker room, but truth be told Risto just isn't a top pairing defensemen and is an average 2nd pairing guy who puts up PP points

- Stripes77

At this point my take is you either want to be a part of the problem or the solution. It seems like Risto wants to be apart of the problem so let him go. I dont care if he is successful elsewhere. We need to move on with the solution

Your opinion.

And all the arguments of him being a pp specialist makes me wonder if people realize he scores more even strength than he does on the pp.

In all seriousness, most people in the hockey world took Ristolainen's comments as wanting out of Buffalo, and it sounds like Jack Eichel took it that way as well. It sounds like he is saying that if he doesn't want to be here, they don't want him here either.

When a player likes a trade rumor of him going to Florida or anywhere else that must not sit well either.

My feeling is that Carr is going to target him a lotttttt. That’s why I drafted him in fantasy.

Revisionist history. Before ROR was dealt he wasn't very good in the eyes of many Sabres fans just like Risto is now. Risto will probably be dealt sometime but I predict people will say Risto was good but he had attitude problems and didn't want to be here so good for him now that he is doing well in _________________ but we are better off without him.

Enough said. This is what comes out of buffal sabres and Buffalo Bills fans. Ted Nolan was a moron.he didn't watch film, didn't have a sysTem,was as bright as two watt light bulb. I love freedom of speech, but not when idiotic, senseless spewing comes out,95% of fans who have no clue about sports, that's why regier(no high school education) Nolan , Rex and Rob Ryan's get jobs. They are part of the 95% who have no clue but get jobs because there isn't enough smart people

So you’re saying Football is for low IQ people...even the players, coaches and management?

Brown reportedly called the GM a cracker 🤣🤣
I remember long ago the first time I was called a cracker... LMAO, wtf is a cracker?, I asked. It still cracks me up every time I hear another honky being called a cracker. 🤣🤣

False

There wasn't anyone here who said he wasn't good

There were some who said he was overrated

ROR on the Sabres was a good hockey player whose post game interview and shtick got old with a lot of people especially on here

ROR on the Blues was a great hockey player

That is the difference between ROR and Risto

Risto is a competitor and clearly wants to win, the problem is he isn't this top pairing defensemen certain people want him to be. Wanting the win is one thing, having the Hockey IQ to put it together is another.

Tyler Myers is a slightly better Risto

YOU do realize it is 98-95 in favor of 5v5,
So, yes technically correct at 50.78%, but hardly overwhelming.
So, the point is?

Now someone show me how much time he spends on the ice 5 on 5 vs PP

Edit:

I'll do it myself:

19:28 average even strength time per game
3:00 average power play time per game
2:10 average short handed time per game

I don't think you can speak for everyone when accessing how people felt about ROR and his play there were many who couldn't wait to get him out the door. Slow, unproductive sick of hearing "I have to do better." Along with that 7 mil a year? They couldn't wait to get him out the door.

There is obviously a difference between Risto and ROR but I contend that when Risto goes to another team fans will perform a revisionist history and some regret like they have done with ROR running him out of town. He will also be more of a player and difference-maker than Tyler Myers who still can't complete an outlet pass and if he wasn't tall would be a 5-6 D. One year made that guy.
