Petan and Dano are what happens to Jets prospects when they can't crack the top 6 and don't fit the mold on Maurice's checking line. Fans should get use to it, Roslovic and Appleton will be joining Petan and Dano on the scrap heap in about year.

Here is some of my issues with Maurice;

-I’d like to see Copp at Center
But
Maurice only plays his 4th line 6 minutes and Copp deserves more than that

-I’d like to see a more 4 line balanced attack
But
With Maurice insistent on overplaying 55&26 it’s impossible

-I’d hope Niku and Poolman were to get a real chance
But
Maurice loves vets and that means both Kulikov and Bellieau will play ahead of them

-Roslovic, Appleton and Vesalainen will all need minutes and better line mates to improve
But
Maurice will probably not let that happen

-I’d like it if letestu and Bourque do not dress for a single jets game this year
But
You know what I’m going to say

I do not think so. The opinions expressed normally have a passionate plea to them. The opinions are also similar to a prominent Twitter poster as well.

To each their own I guess, but what a strange group of players to attach yourself to. Don’t get it.

I don't care as much what happens on the ice this year or what the lines are as long as the phone booth is buzzing with good times.

So with the Jets struggling with Pionk in the top four, Niku marooned with Kulikov, and Poolman not playing (or playing for that matter), you don't think the Jets will miss Chiarot, Myers or Trouba? Really? And when Buff goes down?

And Tanev was the most energetic Jets forward last year, he played with the most desperation. The previous year the Jets had success due to playing desperation hockey, and you don't think the Jets will miss Tanev this season? Interesting! You obviously have a different take on Tanev than the Penguins scouts.

- grahamzky

The Jets will hugely miss Trouba. I should’ve been clearer. The other 3 are replacement level at best.

As for Tanev and the Penguins? Uh, yeah. Rutherford has been out to lunch since the last Cup. First rounder for Ryan Reaves, purposely picking up Gudbranson and Johnson, and now Tanev.

Good God Man!

Dano- Plug- Opportunities were given, he’s just not talented enough.

Petan- Bust- Smaller than a decimal point and soft as Charmin.

Postma- Fringe player- KHL or AHL at best.

Enstrom- Washed Up- Played small at the end and was always hurt it seemed. Got caved in defensively. If he was offered an NHL contract he would have taken it.

Why do you guys seem to be always arguing about these bums in your thread?

Dano - opportunity was given in Columbus. Carried a 2nd line with Hartnell and Dubinsky for half a season, finished on a hot streak, and was traded for Brandon Saad.
Alternated between 1LW (too much), 4RW (not enough), and the bench/AHL (lol) before being traded to Winnipeg. Carried a 3rd line for the Jets after that deadline with strong numbers, and never got that chance again via Paul Maurice.

Petan - That review was hilarious, and I’m tempted to leave it alone.
But also you’re wrong, and his numbers are excellent in the minimal icetime he’s seen with bad players. Toronto recognizes this, and Babcock is not long for that team. Petan will get his shot.

Postma - Meh. He got his money.

Enstrom - Literally had the best defensive season of any player in 17-18. You have committed the dreaded “Self-Own”.

Bealieau could not make Buffalo's horrendous defense last year and was their number 7. I cannot see him working out, especially in the big bad Central division.
- TheUltimateJet

To be fair, Beaulieu also used to partner with Subban, had fairly strong numbers earlier in his career, and saw a noticeable decline in play right around where his peak age should be... I reckon someone followed the Bogo career path, and may yet bounce back to some degree

Someone mentioned Perreault with Roslovic and Appleton. I like.

MY GRAND VISION:
Copp-Scheifele-Laine
Connor-Little-Wheeler
Vesalainen-Lowry-Ehlers
Perreault-Roslovic-Appleton

Guys, the Dano Petan narrative is getting really old.

Anyone else think Little should be moved to free up space?

No, center is not a strength, Little is still a good player.

Yes, but we can’t. He’s our 4th best center. He’s also got a no-trade clause.

We may not be excellent up the middle, but that doesn’t change the fact that Bryan Little is (at best) the 4th best center on the roster.

Scheifele, Copp, and Lowry are all clearly better, Roslovic plays better defence and has time to improve, and even Gustafsson looks good
