that's stupid
if he can hang with the other guys in our top 9, and out perform a few of our scrubs
he will learn much more from eichel, skinner etc then he would ever learn being sent down
if he earns it, he stays |

yeah pulled muscles.. that has nothing to do with contact. you are all over the board. first its a 60 mph ball is supposed to hurt me (like i havent been hit with worse) to pulled muscles. I tore ligaments in back three years in a row playing soccer and basketball still doesn't make them contact sports. well the way i played soccer i made it one |

i just dont know if he has it to be in the top 6 and our 3rd line might not be the best place for him.. but we shall see |

Based on what I saw during the prospect challenge
Cozens skills and speed wise is pretty much above everyone. Speed alone, if he can keep up. He should be fine at the nhl level. |

If it creates competition, and forces some vets to be better, then it's a win-win. |

Ok a prospect game ? If he was the best player like VO then sure but he’s not
Let him develop in the WHL and be a star in world jrs you all wanted us to rush Grigorenko saying oh it’s better for him to watch NHL practices and learn that worked out great |

He’s also shown it during the rookie camp.
It’s not rushing a player giving him 9 games.
Playing against faster competition and getting a tase of it is a good thing.

In your opinion.
Not every player is the same.
If, and it's probably a big if, Cozens fits in he will stay. |

Casey - he was coming out of college. He wouldn’t have come out to play in the AHL. He had the upper hand.
Tage - he is too good to be in Rochester and not yet nhl ready. He proved that last year. He needs nhl experience and to find himself. |

The frustrating thing is our 'prospects' are old. Oglevie is 24. Olofsson is 24. Asplund is 21, almost 22. Routsoleinen is almost 22. C.J Smith is 24. This is the year they either make it or it is over, particularly for Smith and Oglevie.
Rookies will never beat pro hockey players out for roster spots unless the team factors in potential. How is Asplund supposed to be a better NHL penalty killer than Girgs if he never has done it? You've got to take some risks and allow players you invested picks and time into to get a real shot.
Montreal said they wouldn't bring Pommer into camp to give their young players a fair shot. No young kid is going to look more NHL ready than Pomminville. It's common sense really. I know Sobotka, Girgs, and Okposo are bad, so why not just give their spots to the three best players in camp? If no one steps up at all, I can always bring them or equivalent replacement players back in. |

I think Cozens is the most NHL ready prospect from this years draft not named Kakko or Hughes. The question is, is his top end potential as high as someone like Zegras that we might be asking ourselves in the coming years. |
