Doesn't sound like Ray Ray. He's seems pretty calm and professional to me.
But, I don't think the KHL plays average players that well so I doubt they'd offer him anything great. And then you have to move to Russia which might sound less crappy to someone from the Czech Republic then to an American, but still...it's moving far away. So I guess Ray was just trying to be as dismissive of that hollow threat as possible.

I read that Ludvig Larsson wasn't invited to main camp, and after the tying goal and OT goals today they invited him to come. Probably won't amount to anything but would be a cool story if it does.

I'm sort of on the fence. He was 'only' making about $1.75 so $1M is a significant increase. Plus the question of term. I think they get it done.

I don't think it sets any type of bad precedence one way or another because I think how you value Zacha is very subjective.

Not saying I don't Like Leniwm1's creative idea of having him play D, but I don't know any forwards who did this. Seems going from D to F is a lot easier.

This could be great for Zacha and New Jersey. Far too many players overstay their time in North America when they should leave, instead of hurting themselves. Hopefully he can find his way in Russia. This open spot is extremely valuable to the team.

The team is better with zacha on it then without him. If the dispute is the team offering him 1.5 a year and hes asking 2.5?? Just pay him.
If I'm zacha and I see them bringing in a pk subban on huge money or a gusev who hasnt even played an nhl game getting 4 mill a year, I'm not going to sign for 1.5.
That being said I wouldnt give zacha anything over 3 lol

I have a feeling people don't understand.
If Zacha is worth 1.5 by comparable stats/players and you give in to 2.5. EVERY AGENT representing the Devils will use that for more money. I think that is why overpaying usually occurs for the elites because they are the difference makers. If the low end people get overpaid, your cap is doomed.

Yeah that makes sense I never thought of that. I just dont feel that 2.5 is an overpayment. Hes also only what, 22? Only going to improve and hes already one of the better defensive forwards around.

Im a zacha fan too. But if he is using the threat to KHL to get paid more for not living up to his potential then let him go. We still have his rights and after one year if he doesnt resign in KHL he could come back, hopefully a better player. And if not, its only a draft pick we lost.

I really want him to stay and develop with us. He's an asset on the PK. He may improve to be a better offensive player at evens. Having him as our 4th line center, or even a 3rd line LW, is an asset to the depth of this team.

I think he wants to sign Zacha but the KHL threat is a stupid tactic. Not just because it seems unlikely they are lining up to pay him a big salary.

I just added an article on KHL Salaries. I’m sure Ray has much better info. So Zacha is saying I’m not going to play for you about $2M minimum on the qualifying offer so I’ll be lucky as (frank) to make $2M in the KHL. Because that’s somehow better for his career.

Somebody in Zacha's camp think he's worth a whole lot more than he actually is. I like him for his defensive prowess but the kid can't score. I don't know what the deal is here.
