Bottom line is we are going into this year with more certainty in net than last.
- ClaudeFather

Are we tho? Really? If there is an “if” whether it’s 1 if or 10 ifs doesn’t really matter. For example.: in a couple years when hart has gone through early career ups and downs it will be fully EXPECTED for him to perform at a consistent high level. Big difference. That’s when we can reasonable expect to contend for cup hopefully or at least hopefully really have a legitimate chance to maybe expect it. As with anything always this is barring injury of course

Gandler could not have been happy this morning for sure.

I don't know about that. If Werenski and his agent were willing to sign that bridge deal, why would Provorov not be willing to sign a comparable deal? It's a fair deal as I see it. If his agent is unhappy about the Werenski deal than he's being unreasonable.

Every team has ifs, no one has a crystal ball, I'm confident our goaltending situation is better than last year.

I think that's what he's getting at, the guy seems to be unreasonable.

As far as the goaltending is concerned.

Pros:
Hart has the potential to drastically upgrade the Flyers goaltending with his talent.
Elliott in my opinion is a better backup and more reliable than Neuvirth was as the backup last season.

Cons:
Hart as a young player could easily struggle and need some time sitting out as a backup or possibly even more AHL time.
Elliott also has some recent injuries and its not a guarantee that he stays healthy.

Alert the presses, MJL disagrees with the most non debatable post ive ever said.

Imagine you're a sports agent. What do you live your lavish lifestyle off of? Your commissions on contracts clients of yours signed. As an agent, you have to hope for the most your client can sign for, which is a universal fact in all major sports leagues, and when a seemingly comparable player signs a deal that is probably less than you would've wanted for your client, I know if this was how I made my living I would wake up and be pissed. My opinion is Gandler was upset this morning, just leave it at that and move on.

Its far too much common sense for him to think this way, plus he just likes to push my buttons. Out of ALLLLLLL the posts on this article, he gives us his (unwanted) opinion on me saying an agent woke up upset because of what seems like his client now getting less of a contract then previously rumored. unbelievable

So you think Gandler as a sport agent has illusions of grandeur that the Flyers are going to sign Provorov to some outlandish and outrageous deal that is far and above what other comparable players are going to sign?

Gandler know what the market is going to be for both a bridge and long term deal. He also knows that if his client signs a similar bridge deal to Werenski and plays well and excels, his client will be in a really good position with arbitration rights and UFA approaching. He will have the most leverage he can have as an RFA at that point. Gandler will know that he has his client in a very good position.

You obviously didn't think this out well and your post was very much debatable. I don't think Gandler as an agent would be unhappy with a similar bridge deal for his client.

Doubling down.

Congrats! You've made something out of nothing.

Friendly advice. Place less weight on rumors.

sounds like Sandstrom is having a strong rookie camp as well.

i feel like he gets left out in a lot of the goalie talk but the kid has a lot of potential

The expectation is talks will heat up on Provorov and McAvoy considerably over the next couple days. Provorov’s agent, Mark Gandler of International Sports Advisers, said he has been in “active conversation” with the Flyers.

if Provy doesn't like how the market is set this year he can just sign a very short term deal and cash in later

Faulk has to approve the deal first. Maybe he wants a guarantee of an extension in place.

i haven't seen that name officially anywhere but i'm sure that he would be among the primary asks from CAR. Maybe Nick Ritchie is another target. He would in theory replace the Ferland role but is not quite as good.

there just aren't a lot of names on that roster that stick out as a decent return for Faulk. i assume most people see Kase and jump to that conclusion.

i dont see Anaheim giving up Steel, Terry or Comtois. Rakell is likely also untouchable for now. Maybe Silfverberg or Henrique?

Bingo is saying in the main thread that Faulk for Kase is all but done. If true, really nice trade for CAR.

Can't believe people are more worried about goaltending this year than going into a season relying on Neuvirth. I honestly have no words...
