Still ways away from any trade being imminent, and as I previously said Faulk would need to waive his NTC (understandably not a cake walk), but sources confirm that as the proposed deal currently stands, Ducks Ondrej Kase would be involved. Again, not done.

This. Literally Pomminville and the coach are the only subtractions. And Pomminville wasn't even a problem. - matty12345

I'll bet you 100 internet dollars that if Ruotsalainen or Asplund have more goals and points than Okposo during the preseason, they won't make the team over him. He doesn't PK and they dont need him on the PP anymore, so it should be a fair fight
- jcragcrumple
Okposo isnโt as bad as most on here bash him for being
Sabres who scored more goals than him last year:
Skinner
Eichel
Sam
Pommer- 16 to Okposoโs 14
*and Okposo didnโt get the benefit of playing with Jack
Asplund didnโt even score 14goals last year in the AHL
Such a small sample size shouldnโt really determine much unless a kid looks drastically better than him |

If he's not on the PP, his point totals will plummet, that's pretty evident when you look at the stats. That's where he does half his scoring
Can you get more than 15 even strength points from someone else? I think it's worth a look |

risto hits
people want him gone
I wish they would just make up their f@cking minds

I donโt want Risto gone ..... our need to a 2C or top 6 forward out weighs Risto being here. Our offense is still weak |

Instead of trading Risto to a new team Botts and Krueger are just going to build a new roster. They can swap out 7 forwards and 4 defensemen from last years roster with Rochester promotions and summer signings. |

casey and cozens were drafted to fill those voids though |

If you're in "playoffs or bust" mode this year, you have to move Ristolainen for forward help. If not, you can afford to let those two grow into the roles. |

I'd prefer for Risto to be traded for offensive help.
I also think they should try to include the likes of Sheary in the deal as a sweetner...perhaps a team would see him as an option that could replace some of the production they lose in trading us a top 6 forward.
And I'd support them holding a significant portion of Sheary's contract just to open an additional spot. |

We have 6 forwards and 4 defensemen that will be UFAs next summer with Vesey the only one I would think is someone they want long term. I don't think this year is a playoffs or bust season, but I think that the team will show improvement. Of the ten soon to be UFAs, there should be some trade bait at the deadline if not sooner due to injuries. I don't think there is any one 'quick fix' trade to be made. Botts so far has seemed to be calculated with his moves, and should have more trust from the fans. |

He would add to the growing number of overfilled spots blocking a younger, more talented player ready to fill. |

I agree. We are still in desperate need of scoring. If we can't move up to the middle of the pack in scoring, we are not ever going to make the playoffs |

The six forwards:
Sobotka - zero trade value
Wilson - zero trade value
Larsson - low round pick value at the deadline maybe
Girgensons - nothing to low round pick value at the deadline
Sheary - Possibly a 3rd round pick
Vesey - hopefully back with the club
The four defensemen:
Scandella - zero trade value
Hunwick - Zero trade Value
Nelson - likely resigns
Bogosian - too often injured to have any value, but if he manages to be healthy at the deadline might get you a mid round pick.
There is no real value in that entire group. I doubt he gets much of anything for them. |

Scandella could fetch a 3rd/4th
Sheary would then be replacing the value we sent for him
If Bogo is healthy that's a 2nd/3rd rounder depending on how he's playing
Pretty much right on everything else. |

I agree with all. There maybe the slightest possibility 1 or 2 have a decent year and get us a late pick, but that's about it |

I want our team to be better.
Whatever needs to happen to accomplish that, needs to happen.
Keep Risto
Trade Risto
Send Sobokta to the sun
Bury Okposo
Play Okposo with Jack

His pp scoring is evidence that he still has skills
Unfortunately, we stuck with that contract for now
Play him with better line mates & youโll see more 5v5 production |

olofsson-e-rod-johansson
sheary-lockport larry-tage
IMO that is the best 12 up front constructing a roster
you can make a case for dropping e-rod to the 4th line and let asplund or ruotsalainen handle the 3rd line spot but I just can't see an opening night with larry, girgens, okposo and sobotka in the lineup
I'd send all 4 of them to rochester and let lazar be the 13th skater though if I had my way |

He can still shoot on the PP, but he's too slow to get to scoring areas 5-on-5, and he just cant keep up with the pace of play. I wouldn't play him with Mitts; we need Mittelstadt to produce and Okposo will be a boat anchor for him. Playing him with Eichel would be similar to what Edmonton tried with lucic. Bad idea imo. We at least need one line to score
Best bet is to bury him on the 4th line with larry and girgs and ask him to please stop taking dumb penalties |
