Krueger is the common denominator.
If he wants to "fix" Risto, he probably wants to fix Sobotka. - thatsapickle
You’re better than this take |
|
|
|
Let's say the sabres need 9 mill in cap space for Laine. It's only for this year, they have lots of space after that. So...
Trade Risto for cheap. 5.4 mill.
Bury Bogosian or Scandella. 4 or 5.1 mill more.
Problem solved.
...It will never happen. |

Maybe he also feels if he can fix Risto, his stock rises considerably for next year when we really need to add forwards |

Players on good teams get more respect. Hopefully we're good so our good players get that. It's like how none of Poyer, Hyde or Tre made the NFL top 100 last year. If the Bills were 9-7 last year, at least one, and maybe all 3, make the list.
But man, c'mon Kane. You're both American too |

Sign and trade for Laine - washedup20
Can you do that though? Sign and then make a trade instead of the draft pick compensation? |

When you say "bury", sending them to AHL only clears like ~$1m in cap space, the other still hits your cap. The only way to "clear it" would be to put on LTIR for the year, or trade the player.
Even loaning the player to another league only clears the same ~$1m. |

I guess I fail to understand what the sign and trade benefits either team?
I think his value is the same signed or not signed. Just my opinion. Only way a sign and trade would be helped was if he did not want to play with the team acquiring him. But if that was the case, why would you want to do this trade (as the team acquiring him)? |

What do you mean they can release them? Sure they can let them "go" and still pay their salary and have the cap hit for the rest of their terms. Is that what you mean? |

Cant do that without cause. You basically have to throw a hooker out of a moving car while doing a line off your steering wheel and have it all caught on tape |
