And neither was Crosby. But most would still take him over OV. Marner was second to McDavid in primary assists, so we could make the argument he's the projected assist leader or second place. Matthews is projected to be at or near the goal leader. The point isn't that Marner is better than AM away, it's that wanting AMs contract isn't unreasonable.

Just the way he plays and my understanding of the sport.

Marner isn't a bum but they should definitely entertain the idea of trading him. Especially if the Jackets are stupid enough to give you Jones for him.

I support the Leafs more than individual players. If there's a trade out there that would improve the team, like bringing Seth Jones in, I'd absolutely do it.

every GM in league will prefer a player that has 90 points in 82 games over a guy that gets 45 points over 40 games.

I do remember reading a story and there was a lot of credit directed at Dubas for putting together the presentation.

but really idgaf, Dubas is doing a fine job with the hands he is being dealt, the RFAs are not making it easy.
