Marner is or should i say was my fav player. Cuz in all honesty im teetering on the edge of not giving a poop if he is on the Leafs or not. Trading him could be the best thing. 11 mill could get you a great Dman and still have 4 or 5 mill for a decent winger. Its starting to get in the make me puke territory. Sorry, just being honest.

I really don’t know where you are getting this info on Matthews and Marner being fantastic two way players....they are both ok in their own end.

Early on Matthews was considered a dominant defensive center. I remember something about him having gone like 2 weeks without a minus.

That seems to have gone away. They both are now, just average. None of the leafs forwards seems to pay enough attention to defense.

Both of them are fantastic at driving play, they both have a willingness to backcheck.

Marner blocked a shot once in the playoffs and now he’s a shot blocker...

McDavid isn’t good in his own end either...he’s a play driver too.

There’s nothing wrong with not being great in your own end but these players aren’t two way players...to this point.
