Wasn’t until BiggE pointed out that he feels Farabee is NHL ready that I started paying more attention to that line. Crazy I know. I’m more impressed with Myers and Rubtsov. With this said, Farabee is everywhere and making all the right plays, cutting off passing lanes and using his speed. Watching all this makes me very disappointed in Morgan Frost. - SuperSchennBros
Frost wasn't bad. Seems to have some playmaking ability in him. |

Shame Farabee was out of gas on the 2nd breakaway. Myers was a total beast on his last shift. Love the way both Frost and Ratcliffe hustled back on D when the play went the other way too. |

Not bad at all. I felt like he was a step behind Farabee. |

Was anyone else also thinking no way does anything flyers related win in a shootout? |

Farabee is a puck-magnet. No matter where he is on the ice, it finds him. He must have had at least 3-4 Islanders pass the puck directly to him on breakouts. 50/50 pucks usually end up in his favor. Always right place, right time, right decision.
Really impressed with Rubtsov, Frost, Myers, Zamula and Kase. Vorobyev and Ratfliffe were good, too. Strome not so noticeable, which was disappointing. Millman looks and moves like a pro player. Ustimenko and Sandstrom both made a lot of tough saves. |

Fun game to watch , most importantly though all the kids that needed to stand out did. The loss doesn't really matter considering the amount of invites on this roster and echl level talent. Frost, Farabee, Myers, Rubtsov, Vorobyev all looked really good and that's encouraging going into camp on Friday. Also just to note if Sandstrom plays the whole game we win this one easy. But it's a rookie game and they want everyone to get their reps and I have no issues with that at all, pretty understandable. Excited too see , Frost, Farabee, Rubtsov, Vorobyev duke it out for 3rw in training camp, should be interesting to see who seizes the opportunity! So exited hockey is back been a long (frank)ing summer boys. Provy and TK better sign tomm as well, don't want them missing a day of camp. |

Frost is going to need time in on the Phantoms. I thought he tried to many cutesy plays and gave the puck up. I think he hit three posts tonight including the shoot out chance.
Rubstov was their best forward. Meyers has some beast mode shifts.
Sandstrom looked good.
Farabee was good but isn’t the flashy type.
Strome didn’t get a lot of ice time so it’s hard to tell what he can do.
His skating is fine as long as he doesn’t have to go anywhere with urgency.
I don’t think I saw him skate hard once.
Maybe he was and it doesn’t show lol.

I’m not going to get overly excited over a rookie game, especially with the result being a loss. I’ll just say the clear standouts were Rubtsov, Sandström and Farabee.
Myers just looked like a guy who you have to wonder why he’s even in this game. That’s how incredible a standout he was. |

Obvious troll is obvious.
Also the weather in Orange County is ridiculous today. How are you this negative with this weather?

He was very good. Got a little cute a few times with plays that often worked for him in the OHL but didn't work tonight. He'll learn. Set up at least 4 scoring chances. Won the majority of his draws. Couple of nice defensive plays, including one near the buzzer. Stole a puck in OT and was dragged down (should have been a power play). Had goalie dead to rights in shootout but hit inside of the post.
What, pray tell, was there to be "disappointed" about? That he didn't get 3 points like last year? Played overall a good game tonight. |

Frost was really good tonight , anyone who thinks otherwise wasn't watching him close enough. A guy with his talent level is going to have the puck on his stick a lot and not every play Is going to work out perfectly. Excited to see what he has to show in training camp and pre season. |

My takeaway from game and rookie camp.... Myers has zero business playing in this game. Clearly on flyers roster and had nothing to gain but all to lose if injured. Also none of the young guys should be on flyers roster. And the closest to be called better be germ. He’s clearly the closest at both ends. Maybe half season in the A. let the others develop for a season and maybe next year all 3 of the big 3 make team. |

Rookie game and first game, expectations should be set accordingly.
The big camp is where we will get a longer better look. |

Exactly, it was just a peek. My biggest takeaway outside the obvious standouts is that there was more players on the cusp to try to keep an eye on. All good. That didn’t even include Bunnaman, Twarynski, and Aube-Kubel. |

Samuel Morin, Isaac Ratcliffe, Matthew Strome, Nolan Patrick. There should be some size and toughness in our future. - SuperSchennBros
size, yes toughness. Not sure. Got to see strome skating for the first time....not that good at all. I see what everyone talks about. IMO, isle rookies started getting physical during the game, and this was not matched. Some of our guys were looking for the upcoming hits.
German looked good. Farabee as well, but think he will need a month or two in the ahl before coming up.
To me no one last night had a good answer for turcotte and murray running around. |

yeah...the isle rooks were trying to hit him everytime. Zamula looked good with him as well. Couturier was trying to avoid getting hit in the third. |

Myers was clearly the best player on the ice for either team. He was head and shoulders above every other player on the ice.
I had to temper all my enthusiasm for the rest of the players like Farabee, Frost, and Rubstov reminding myself that they were playing against other rookies and kids who at best may be in the AHL this season and probably only a few at that. Out of the three I liked most what I saw from Rubstov. The skill from Farabee and Frost was also quite evident.
Really cant make a judgment based on that. Lets see how they do in real camp but in my early opinion none of them seem like a lock to make the big club.
I tried to watch Strome every time he was on the ice. His skating seemed better but he will never be fast. One thing I did notice is that despite his speed he always seemed to be where he was supposed to be. And seemed to often be around the puck and made good decisions when he had it.

The fact that German Rubtsov was much better in all three zones with lesser linemates. Anything else you’d like to challenge me on, big guy? |
