With the usual caveat that nothing is done until it's done, it sounds like there's been some progress in contract talks between the #leafs and RFA Mitch Marner.

I'm calling a 1-2 year deal now. Give him like 8-9 AAV and then punt it to when hopefully for them, the cap goes up by a decent amount.

All the talk here in Toronto is that he wants at least a 3 year deal with the last year being $13 mil so the year after the qualifying offer is $13 mil
