Nylander is a bargain - Santo_44
Nah, hes paid what a 60 - 65 pt player should be.
90 plus players get paid.
It is what it is. |

As long as he hits it again, it’ll be fine.
Needs to score, we can have any bird passing it to AM, he catches almost everything you throw at him.
C’mon Willie, score some goals.......please.

Mirtle in an article on theathletic:
Dubas is only in his second year as an NHL GM, but he’s already had to make a handful of really difficult, franchise-defining decisions. He’s leaned into doing everything possible to keep this talented young core together, even when it meant paying far more than anyone thought they would have had to even a year ago. (It’s believed, for example, that Marner’s camp would have settled for eight years at around $9-million a season back in the summer of 2018.)
So obvious - but some in here still refuse to believe this.
Dubas made a bad gamble by lowballing marner last offseason and lost. |

@CanadaCup...
Our early conversation about the negative press....it did bother Marner. Sounds like a lot too especially stuff about his parents. Even some kids yelled at him in a park.
Also, last 48hrs Marner started letting Dubas know he wanted to get a deal done and be at camp.
Hmmmmmmm....maybe I was right. Or at least a little bit right. |

Good it should bother you. Don't turn down 11 million per making you the 5th highest paid player in the league so that you can squeeze out a little more money in a few years time and then turn around and talk about how you always wanted to be in Toronto and the fans are the best. It was pure greed and ego. He deserved what he got. |

Unlikely that Nylander peaked out at 21.
I think he has 80 point potential |

Hindsight is an amazing thing.
If Dubas signed that contract and then Marner put up 60 points again - You would be the first to rip on him.
9 million for Marner didn't look like a good deal for the leafs last year.

Yes, he's a good wingman.
Him and marner are the only 2 wingers on the leafs that can hit 80 points; and are paid for their potential above that accordingly. |

It's too early to evaluate Dubas' tenure anyway, some fans are just hate-watching. |

I find it hard to believe Marner was willing to sign before getting a chance to rack up points alongside Tavares |

If matthews helps him to that, maybe. Without AM, not so sure. |

good job dubass now send a message and package this greedy little boy with greedy willi for some grown men who are more worried about the team and winning a cup or maybe at least one round 👍
this team is not built for any of that right now 🤦♂️
i’m starting to get the feeling that dubass doesn’t want to be intimidated by the players so he signs guys that are smaller than him and have skinnier necks🤦♂️
that’s The only way to explain his caving to the greedy little b!tch and melander camps🤦♂️😭🤣lmfaooooo |
