4 million more than willy. That's nuts
The stars didn't leave much money to fill out the rest of the team.
Anyways. They will win the cup this season. So I don't care - senstroll

Who cares, 5 guys on the ice with him. None of them are here now. They’ll be just fine....if not he’ll get shuffled down the lineup. - Garnie
If he gets shuffled down the lineup, who takes over as top pair RHD?
If he sucks, it'll be a big problem. |

Too high Mike. Absolutely too high. But absolutely manageable. So it's perfect. Absolutely perfect, Mike. - UsernameUnknown
As I said on Twitter, it was the price they were going to have to pay on a long-term deal, but after this season, they will need cap room to keep their D viable and that in my mind means trading Nylander's $7M salary if they want to keep Barrie. |

Scabeh guessed the closest AAV with 8x10.895
Peter21 guessed 6x10.6
So you decide a winner idk.. |

Same as Tavares. It's not a legit problem. Plenty of Norris winners have played very well at 30+. |

I'd usually agree with that idea but if those players are the best in the league at what they do, how could you resist? Especially if one of them is literally the last major puzzle piece?
We've seen the Leafs move 1st rounders to dump bad deals and acquire marginal players. Let's seem them use some picks, prospects and Nylander to land that Doughty and really start going for the Cup.
Remember, we gotta compete with Tampa Bay every year. - JohnFergusonJr
We have to avoid being Tampa Bay every year.
That said, eventually WSH got their cup and we all know what they went through.

Are we playing Price is Right rules where it's closest without going over?
Or bubblegum in a jar where it's closest to the correct number?

6 years and a bit under 11? I suppose it's acceptable. Glad this didn't drag on into camp more than a day.
It's a year more than Matthews (iirc), so that's a point in Dubas' favor. Good they won't need deals at the same time again.
Now we finally focus on the game we all love, hockey. Woops, I mean, now we can all finally focus on the possible resigning of Barrie and/or Muzzin. |

Held out and done what? He had to sign by opening or sit or go to Zurich. If was going to play, then don’t miss any training camp. - Canada Cup
Or he could've signed the same or better deal in June, July, August, first half of September...but didn't until a few days after the leak. Hmmmmm?!
Either way, don't really give a poop, just glad it's done and it's a decent deal.
Let's play some fu3king hockey boys!!!!!! |

He'll be the first chip to go, obviously. They might be in tough as it may take a couple years but I don't see that happening. He'll bounce back enough to justify his cap hit. |

I suspect Dubas will do everything in his power to sign Barrie without dropping Nylander, but I think he'll see he doesn't really have much of a choice. Is what it is. |

15.1 million to sign 5 defensemen next season.
That's gonna be rough. |
