I think Columbus got a decent deal too in the short term, but he’s gonna sign a monster in a few years.

They get Werenski for a decent cap hit for 3 years but if he continues to grow and put up points, after that his cap hit will soar.

Personally Werenski is on the same track of Trouba. I know I wouldn't want Trouba for 8m.

I think this article is in reference to the new era that started yesterday at camp. I love it. Teamwork—all one word for a reason.

When Fletcher said Patrick has been injured for a while and they’ve known about it, what crack media member asked how he sustained the injury? Journalism 101
- PLindbergh31

They trade access to the team for sacrificing some journalistic standards, such as asking about injuries. Plus the Flyers are the type of team to not tell.

The whole NHL landscape for salaries is changing .....the young RFA’s coming off 3 year entry level deals want the big money and there’s really no way to avoid situations like Konecny’s....makes me think the Next CBA will have these contracts as a central focus from the ownerships side. The league has to find a way to get these young guys playing. It not good for the players, the fans or the owners..

i'm expecting another lockout

If Werenski keeps producing, they'll be lucky to get him for 8M.

He has also played more minutes with Andrew MacDonald than anyone else during his career, so that’s bound to bring him down.

Found this quote on this site:
http://sonsofpenn.com/iva...-like-a-steal-for-flyers/

For everyone who doesnt think the provy deal is a good deal (looking at pavel and team negative)

If he keeps developing past the age of 22 (he will) this contract will be a steal and open the door to sign big name players when the time is right!

In my dreams .....

Giroux: "Hey, TK, where are you?"
TK: "My agent said I should sit here in Canada until I get paid."
Giroux: "Well, okay. Just thought I'd call and tell you how great Farabee looks. Man, that kid could be top 6, maybe right now. Gotta go."

Sadly, fans get their panties in a wad when players hurting the team by not making an effort in their own end get sent to the press box. So the offenders know it won't last. 30th in the league in 5v5 GA is the first thing that needs to change. But all the fans talk about is scoring and puck carrying.

Hopefully Chuckles is quietly shopping the guys who are the problem, so we can get back into the top half of the league in GA again.

So Hayes says he was on a line with JvR and Lindblom. Was Lindblom the RW?

And??? For the next 3 years the Jackets have the better player at leas money.. What if Provorov has more seasons like last year? Then what does term mean? It’s a bad contract. That’s what it means

Okay, so what is the full amount of Marner’s deal worth and what’s his cap hit? After we figure that out, who is a comparison to Konency and what are they signed for moving forward?

Werenski’s deal is a good one, but it sets him up big in the future. Figure over the next 6 years, Columbus will probably shell out ~41-42M for him. Provy will have cost Philly $40.5M.

It’s almost the same. Both are high end potential defensemen.

Provorov is much more likely to be the defenseman he was year 2. An awful lot was asked of him this past season, his partner often put more pressure on him, and the coaching schematic was straight balls. He had his own boneheaded moments, but the kid was 21. 21 and asked to do it all. Not as a forward. As a top line defenseman. Let him develop.

I see him as a 12-17 goal guy getting around 42-47 points regularly, but being defensively sound and extremely reliable. There very well may be seasons he even stretches past those numbers in his prime.

As a fan, I don't care about salary, I care about cap hits. Obviously it's the opposite for the player. From that perspective, it won't be almost the same.

Unless he gets PP1 time, I think Provorov will be on a low side or below with the point totals you give. I agree on the usage.

Think about the fact you've been using your free time to poop on a team you don't even care about for THAT long...
