Seth Jones
RHD - mr.sir Wonderful player. Is also 3 years older so I’d like to see what happens. I’d take Jones right now over McAvoy. Not so sure I’d agree in 3 years, but we’ll see.

Both phenomenal. Tkachuk is a poop, but so is Marchand. He kind of reminds me of a power forward Marchand. Maybe a cross between Tom Wilson and Marchand. You want them on your team, but poop do you hate their guts when they’re not. - RickJames77
If you have to take one, McAvoy all day. That coveted RD is a tough to find.
Wingers like Tkachuk, Marchand....love them both, are hard to find too but not as necessary as a 1&2 LD/RD.
Now if it was a #1C....then you have to take the C
PS Rick...I remember the days of not having a #1C, D, W, G....anything on this team. So us Leaf fans know the pain of all. We are very knowledgeable about not having good players. |

So opening game lineup should look something like this...
Johnsson / Matthews / Nylander
Kapanen / Tavares / Marner
Aberg / Kerfoot / Mikheyev
Moore / Spezza / Gauthier
Rielly / Ceci
Muzzin / Barrie
Sandin / Liljegren
Andersen

Only Sandin makes sense. The majority of that list is AHL level or garbage.
You also forgot Engvall, who I hope makes it ahead of a couple others but I doubt because they'll probably go with somebody who has more experience.
But I'd love to see Engvall as the 3rd LW.

Look at some of those names. Seriously. A lot of filler there. A lot.

Shouldn't be. Holl has put in his time in the organization. Schmaltz is RHD depth and plays too offensively. He's a bigger Carrick. His whole career has been about offensive play and the Leafs don't need more of that, especially on the 3rd pairing.
Holl should make the team and be given PK time. He's not amazing but he's the type they need to play strong defensively. |

I hope they finally give Holl a chance. Schmaltz just seems to fit into Dubas' all offence experiment. |

Somebody has to kill penalties and it won't be Schmaltz. Holl fits the type of hard working professional Babcock loves.

More than zero chance, he's fighting with the rookies for a spot and could easily be the #7 guy like he was last year. |

If that's true, and Babs has full decision-making on the lineup, I'm not so sure. He let him sit all year in the press box. Would have gotten more out of a year in the minors. |
