I think it’s smart for the Leafs. Might get the player to take a little less for giving so much up front, if not oh well. Second, this gives actual dollars cost to a lower amount later in the contract, so teams like Ottawa might over pay for him if they need to go that route in the future.

Singletary injury sucks, he looked really good so far.

He's never done that with the sabres. Couldn't even do that with ROR. I dont see him hitting 20 goals 3 concussions later, in his 30s, unless he's on Jack's wing and PP1. Even then probably not. He does his scoring on the PP now, and that time might be gone
