Between Konecny, Laine, Connor, and Rantanen, it is murdering my keeper lineup in fantasy hockey. I hope they get signed soon lol. |

Any one see the Jordan Hall video of Patrick practicing? Whatever is bothering him it doesn't look too serious, he looked good in the small clip, probably just being cautious with the kid. |

Morgan Frost is unavailable to play tonight. He is day to day with a lower body injury per Chuck Fletcher. - bmeltzer

if anyone runs some our young guys, then that is what he is here for. Grinding, toughness and to occasionally chip one in.
lets see if turcotte and murray are running around again. Not sure if Martin or Boychuk will be out there. |

I don't really have an opinion on sides per se with TK and management because I don't know the ask/offer and without that info its really not possible for me to "take sides" but I will say this isn't good for TK or the Flyers.
Connor, Laine, Tkachuk, Boeser, Rantanen, Deangelo, Carlo, Point and of course TK...all RFA's coming off of ELCs all unsigned. I just see another lockout on the horizon. - nastyflyergirl
I for one am glad young RFA's are standing up for themselves. It's become a league driven by the production of early 20-yo's. There's no market failure here, players like TK rightfully should get a big slice of the pie. If the team will be profiting off his near-term production gains, so should he. |

The sides need to compromise on something like a 5 x $5m deal for TK. - Feanor
I wouldn't go to $5M on TK if it were my call. I'd go a million south, and would prefer shorter-term as well. |

He looked pretty quick and was firing the puck fine. Curious what's bothering him |

It's also become a league where 200-foot play is the big emphasis unless a player puts up a slew of points to compensate. TK is a good young scorer but his feet still go faster than his head a little too often, in my opinion. To be clear, I don't want him traded and I think the team is better off with than without him. But he's still a bit linemate dependent (can't drive his own line) and a bit one-dimensional; well, two-dimensional, because he does bring energy and ability to get under opponents' skin as well.

I am 100% sure at this point there will be another work stoppage in the next year or two. The salary structure needs to be revisited and once again the owners need to be saved from themselves.
Personally I say get rid of the cap, allow the teams that cant make money to fold, and contract the size of the league. (this will never happen of course)

I wouldn't mind a bridge at around $4m, but if he puts together a couple of 60 point seasons, his next contract will be at 7 or 8. |

I was hoping for somewhere in the $4.5 range.
I had a long debate with a guy on the Facebooks the other day who claimed he was going to be a 50 goal scorer.
I said he would never sniff 50 goals and may reach 30 a few times in his career.
Pointed out that only 2 players scored 50 last season, and that no one scored 50 the previous 2 seasons before that. Only 1 the season before that, and to stop thinking like this was the 80's
I started thinking he was TK's agent in disguise

I would LOVE that, but yeah, good luck. Perhaps they need to go to an NBA style cap where you can exceed it to resign your own players? |

The owners are happy with the system as is. They chose not to reopen the CBA. The ball is in the NHLPA court. |

He'll improve defensively. But a 21-yo multiple 20-goal scorer is pretty rare. 30-goal per is easily within reach for him. Maybe even more. |

Well they needed the cap. In the 2 decades prior, all of the big market teams like Philadephia, New York, Toronto, and Boston won every single Stanley Cup. Small market teams like New Jersey, Colorado, Dallas, and Tampa Bay just had no chance of ever winning without the cap. |

I'm not sure he'll improve all that much defensively, TBH. As for 30 goals that depends on whether he becomes a PP1 player. Hard to do it as a PP2. |

Re TK, I’d put 3 final offers on the table:
6 years, 27 million 4.5 milllion aav
3 years, 11.5 million, 3.833 million aav
2 years, 6.75 miilion, 3.375 million aav
Choose one or you can either sit out or go play in Europe for less. |

Yet its interesting that those teams were the ones actually winning the cups.
