Every guy on the team was playing with a chip on their shoulder. If you think about 3rd and 4th lines today compared to when Nashville & Columbus came into the league there is so much more talent today. Much better chance you can get someone who just needed an opportunity that they previously weren't getting.
I just want them to be the Kraken - lonnyBohonos
That'd be a good name. I'd be okay with Seattle Grungethumpers. The uniform could be a lumberjack pattern, and they'd smell like patchouli and always look like they'd been slept in for a week straight. |

They are negotiating with NBC directly. There is no bidding war, it will likely be a similar deal. - aminnes
The expectation is that like all other recent major sports broadcast deals, the NHL will see a significant increase, at least double the previous deal and then some. |

Nylander's deal will be such a steal |

It's a weak troll attempt... I expected more.
Why limit 'tradition' to the last 50-60 years when the Leafs have been around for over 100 years.
Next time, try harder when trolling. - PatC80
Since you guys are talking history, is this right time to bring up that the Winnipeg Maple Leafs played for the Stanly Cup before the Toronto Maple Leafs even existed? And then when that league folded and the NHL began the Toronto team, struggling to come up with an original name, borrowed Winnipeg’s. |

Hard to imagine based on the ratings though. They peaked in 2012-13 at 392,000 and were down to 313,000 last year, their second lowest under the current TV deal. The lowest was 2 years ago, so they have been going down for the last 6-7 years. |

And the Winnipeg Falcons won the first gold medal for Canada in hockey at the Olympics, so we got that going for us to. |

Eh, it's always negative b.s with the Leafs.
First it's Dubas can never sign the "Big 3", not only does he, but he adds Tavares, and people still say it can't work.

Do you like getting a fair wage?
You can thank a Winnipeg striker for that.
