I see them going off on Twitter about how they were close to a LT deal at $7 mill but JB couldnt close it, so JB sucks.....

Its never good enough....

Everyone keeps saying this is a bad deal for JB because it puts him in tough in three years when it’s time to re-sign him. Bunch of bullpoop. In 3 years time we will know for sure if he is a 10 million per guy or a 6 - 7 million guy. Plenty of guys will be off the books also. 3 to 5 year contract at this price is a great deal for both. They did the almost the same with deal with Gudbransen and we found out quickly his worth. It made him movable. I don’t see Boeser regressing I only see him getting better but the same idea. I think it puts more pressure on Boeser than it does management at this point.

It was good signing, pretty close to what I called a few days ago, at 5, 5, and 8.
Nice job

I think it was a good fair market deal. Interested to see the breakdown over the 3 years though. Is the QO going to be huge for year 4?

Is that the breakdown? So his QO will be almost $9m!

I hope he is a 10 mil guy that would mean he is putting up 90 pts

Not sure what to do with all this merchandise.

I guess you’ll be seeing #BBGTFO T-shirts and caps on refugees in some god forsaken part of the world...

Edler, Ferland, Ferraro, Perron. Wonder if we'll see Juolevi sometime?

Did you notice Tanev seemed to be faster? He did play quite well, i'm looking forward to seeing him and Hughes work together in their zone.

I also caught a bit of the other game and Schaller looked much quicker. MacEwen was disappointing tho.

- Brooks_Light

I missed a couple guys.

I watched the poop kicking the other team took in the first and the Overtime.

It was good that Van's Bottom 6 was able to keep Calgary's top 6 to just 2 goals.

After watching last year I instantly got the impression Archibald 2.0

There is a good chance he never arrives.

- VANTEL

I swear someone in here was putting him on the top line because he's going to be better than Ferland.

With inflation, probably more like 75 - 80 points. Marner already over 10 mil for 94 points.
On a side note, Brock's contract is up when the CBA is up as well. Could be a lockout or a new landscape in 3 years. Perfectly fine with this deal.

3 years time maybe Brock is sold because hes fallen down the depth charts.

Wise man pointed out to me, watch out for the new NBC deal in 2021 boosting HRR, plus overall excitement and goodwill with Seattle raising HRR a tad too.. Cap goes up, Boeser gets paiiiiiid..

Not really. Most of the GMs have been making reasonable signings.

You have one rogue GM with terrible cap management only.

I agree, it is stupid to push the cap when you dont have to. Its Toronto....
But you will have players and agents pointing at these deals going "Me Too!"

for sure. i just agree that the landscape is going to change a lot in the next couple years and the norm by then wont be the norm now. inflation of contracts and players being more strategic on term.

boeser sign a deal that is essentially 4 year $25+ million because of the qualifying offer, and gets to renegotiate early in his prime. very different than the 10-13 year deals of previous cba or going with multiple 1 year contracts through rfa years
