Happy pre-season day!
My daughter wore her new Andersen Arenas jersey to school today - she got it for her birthday.
I found it on the rack at RealSports for $35. Took the sale sticker off, left the one that said $170.

It's amazing how many people, like Spatso, put so much meaning into preseason games. Still, 530 game to open "the season" I'm down and leaving work early despite it being meaningless. Cant waitnto watch hockey again. - systemtool
If Ottawa wins, Spatso won't be able to sleep for a week.
Remember when his evidence that the Sens were in a better position was their GM saying how good they were.

has anyone asked Spatso about his Laine Matthews recommendations recently? does he still believe the Leafs should have taken Laine?
and what's his opinion on having the crappy Leafs defense coach as their Head Coach, and having Hainsey and Zaitsev in their top four? |

Its interesting... I think the Goat just needs to be dragged into the fight... a guy like Moore is perfect, pushes the pace and Goat takes from his lead (in my opinion). I've never understood the hate that Goat gets... he usually is not a liability in his own zone... with Hyman out hopefully he gets a longer look as a PK guy. If you happen to be one of those guys who thinks the Goat is slow, Spezza will remind you of Jason Allison. - BorjeFan4Ever
The Goat is slow - but my problem with him is his ineffectiveness. I'm not expecting a ton of speed out of Spezza, but I'm hoping that he's old enough or smart enough to know how to make the most out of weaknesses - like how Hainsey knew how to position himself for better success because he was slower and had diminishing skills.
I'm hoping Spezza's passing / vision can give the 4th line a boost, but we'll see.
I know a lot of people do like the Goat - he works, I'll give him that - but I think his 0 points in the playoffs and 30% faceoff rate are probably going to sink him. |

This is crazy: Last night, Leafs tickets for the pre-season game tonight in St. John's were going for $600 a piece. Today, not a ticket to be found on StubHub. |

Pretty much sums it up.
My wild guess is that housing would be relatively inexpensive, but I'll bet the cost of living is pretty high.
On the plus side, you could burn through your retirement funds pretty quickly, because you'd be dead of liver failure in a few short years. |

$849,999 for a 6 bedroom, 6 bath, 9,611 sq. ft. home, 3 km walk to the Mile One Centre.
The woodwork is crazy.
Mind you, if I'm moving to St. John's, I'm getting a condo right downtown. I'm not getting a house with a driveway I have to shovel for 9 months of the year. |

Obviously, the two supposed offer sheets are being angled to make it look like Mitch wanted to be a Leaf for a long time. Whether these offer sheets actually existed or not, Ferris did his job for his client.
Also, hoping Barrie can give Toronto that big point shot on the PP. Too many times the Buds were focused down low and the cross ice pass to Matthews on the PP. Teams would collapse down low, since Reilly doesn't have a bomb from the point. |

League-wide, the slapshot is dead.
Which is a shame. |

Will Spezza play PP2?
At his age he can't skate a regular shift with the young stars, but he can still shoot and pass - only 7 players in the nhl have more career points than him. |

Shea Weber and a few others disagree. But with these new stickers they get it away so fast and hard with a wrister. Slappers have definitely declined. |
