pizza? - Michael Pachla
A. SABRES89 repeatedly claimed, in May and June, that he liked to eat pizza with green olives.
B. SABRES89 has not been seen since May and June. There is no sign of him.

As for other vets like Kyle Okposo, Vladimir Sobotka and Scott Wilson? Lets just say it looks as if they were rusty, like heavy-Chevys that have seen a lot of Buffalo winters.
Hoo boy. Well said.
It's early. Very early. I'll be interested to see how they tinker with the middle-6. I get they wanted to give a shot to CJ with Mitts and Reinhart, and it was nice to see Krueger shake it up at the end and throw Olofsson out there, but some cuts are in order to start sorting the middle-6 |

I would rather eat this pea-and-mayonnaise pizza than befoul a perfectly cromulent pizza with the bitter stank of olives |

the shakeups had a lot to do with Wilson's lower-body injury...smith, to me, seemed like he was trying way too hard after getting the early penalty that led to the jackets first goal...
that said, he plays the game the way they want it played |

When do Junior camps open?
Nevermind. The OHL has already reported for camp. |

I hope that the mentality of the team is to play a full 60 minute game every night. |

With the caveat, again, that it's very early, any concerns on Mittelstadt's faceoffs? Or thoughts on how they could address it? Not sure if Mojo or Reinhart are any good at it
Also, please advise as to whether faceoffs do or do not matter |

Does anyone else find it refreshing to hear seemingly honest and objective comments by the coach after a poor game?
Towards the end of Housely's tenure I was getting pretty tired of "I thought we played well" |

mittlestadt looked awful, and that included the dot...one of his losses led to a direct scoring chance that was thwarted by a big save...
whether faceoffs do or do not matter, depends who you're talking to...same with goaltending |

I had the same thought after the Pens game. I heard a comment by Krueger that said that he liked how they played in the first two periods and then they all started doing their own thing in the 3rd and it lead to 3 goals by the Pens.
The thing that concerns me, is how he deals with it. I'm glad he addressed it as something he noticed and that it was a problem, but how do you fix it? We've now seen the core group of these players do that exact thing now for 4 seasons under 2 different coaches. It's now popping up already in preseason for the 5th season and under a 3rd coach....
Tis a bit worrisome, IMO. |
