I think it might actually be happening. - Wetbandit1
I’ve been to the one in Vegas. Awesome place. Seems like the buffalo location has a long history of delays? You’d think if they were close to opening, they would’ve done everything the could to be ready for Oktoberfest. |

Is there an advanced stat to correlate BFI with shot accuracy? - Chris16
GerBFI.
It's the new, cutting edge advanced stat.
But you can only understand it if you're a know-it-all from Bananaland. |

It has become clear that Risto's net trade value is commensurate with his play.
That of a 3rd liner, or a 2nd/3rd pairing tweener.
When Botts asked his Coaching candidates this year if/how they could fix Risto it was from the realization that the trade offers HD received validated that value. Botts needs to have the coaches improve his play for optimal trade value. He is virtually locked in a corner having to either keep him or add more to the package to receive the desired to 6 player he desires.
I don't forsee a trade coming unless The Peg becomes absolutely desperate, even then it must before a package, not 1:1 |

Cozens was probably the best Sabre.
Lazar was good, too. |

That's the big question, isn't it? Does any of this matter for roster decisions? If it's a fair competition, Cozens should get a shot at 2C tonight. Kid has wheels and vision |

If PhattAss's play has been relatively mediocre, then he needs to continue to play in every preseason game and have the Coaches provide individualized instruction/practice sessions to get his head and body into the game at a high energy pace.
He, not Risto should be the big focus to get "fixed"...Sabres have plenty of Rhd's to take Risto's minutes, they have zero candidates at 2C presently. Now, if they can add individualized sessions for Risto without compromising the needed development of Mitts, Great! Do it! |

Mitts looked good in the third and had good numbers for that game.
I think he might be a different player than what we expected.
He absolutely needs to get stronger on the puck and quicker with his decision making though |

His numbers got considerably worse in the 3rd
On the other end of the spectrum, the Maple Leafs’ star line shined. This line, which included Andreas Johnsson, Auston Matthews, and William Nylander, was clearly dominant throughout the entire game. Interestingly, their most common on-ice opponents were C.J. Smith, Casey Mittelstadt, and Kyle Okposo. While putting Mittelstadt in a position to face top talent is probably good for evaluation, on this night it proved to be bad for results. The Sabres line only managed a 36.84 corsi-for percentage and surrendered a goal to the Matthews line at even strength. |

How so?
I have always viewed him as a strong set-up guy who needs strong wingers to get him the puck and drive hard to the net...more physical wingers |

Didn’t see that. I guess we should maybe give him a line mate who’s an NHL’er as our next step |

And that's something we all need to consider, for sure.
Who's he playing with these past two games?
I bet he's different if he's playing with, say, Mojo and Sam. |

He absolutely needs to be...are those the type of wingers with which he'll thrive...questionable.
He needs a Tkachuk as his winger on each side...could Cozens be that? |

We expected him to be the one dangling in the zone and then hitting the trailer for a snipe.
My point is right now, maybe he’s the guy who finishes plays as opposed to starts them.
I think he’s solid on zone entries on the PP, decent in the neutral zone and his shot is excellent
He’s not great when he’s in the O zone looking to pass. He’s not processing things fast enough. |

Who should I put in my Flex in my ppr league? Diggs vs OAK, Allen Robinson @ WSH, or Agholor vs DET? |

The way cozens carries the puck into the o zone. l want him away from Eichel. Both lug the mail so to speak. I would be comfortable having cozens with skinner.
Cozens like I said awhile ago is Eichel lite. Not as skilled or talented but still brings a lot of the same game. |

I didn't see much of the game last night, but that sounds encouraging to hear. Maybe in another year he can be a true 2nd line center? |

Good and bad. Almost scored off a take away 5 seconds in
Feathered an ill advised soft pass to the offensive slot that was taken away and transitioned down the ice for a GA |

When I noticed him, it was because he wanted the puck and was constantly moving to get it or to get open. I did not notice him getting in bad spots or being too careless. Still can't hit the broad side of a barn. |

Yes mostly like a year away type player. But let’s see how he does tonight. Build off the one good game last night.
If we aren’t trading Risto for a top 6. Let cozens play and let him keep playing well. |
