Could teams not have offered his value? Jbotts value assigned to ritsto?

jets offered 2 roster players with blah contracts and no upside picks or prospects at draft


botts has been more focused on subtraction then losing risto
expect a few 5th or 6th round picks coming our way in the weeks ahead for scrubs, but nothing more


the front office has been tight lipped since botts took over, but regarding risto, he blames the coaches and makeup over the teams last 5 years and has been trying to smooth things over and give risto a chance to succeed

I know everyone thinks we lost the ROR trade but the final verdict isn't in yet. Sure Berglund bailed and Sobotka sucks but what if Tage becomes a solid middle 6 wing (or better) and RJ becomes a top 4 D man? Then what will everyone think? And didn't we use the other pick to get Miller?

I despise talking about that creature, but if we're specifically talking about long term return..

I'd say the majority of Colin Miller (2nd worth much more than a 5th) - And Craig Rivet's version of a 3rd round pick, Ryan Johnson and Tage Thompson is a pretty good return. If RJ becomes a top 4, Tage a top 6, that's 3 upper half players who solidify quality depth. I mean, it's not splendid, but it's not Hasek for rabbit turds.

Thought about it for a minute, but this March date seems to work for everyone. I'm the biggest Sabres fan out of everyone by a mile, so the idea flopped fast.
