Eriksson and Leivo have the same chemistry with Sutter? As they do with Gaud

What about Pearson, where does he fit.

- manvanfan

I'd say, right now, it would be:

Ferland - EP - BB
Sven/Pearson - Bo - Miller
Sven/Pearson - Sutter - JV
Leivo - Beagle - LE

Motte - Goldy as extras until Rousell comes back

Gaudette has had too good of a camp to count him out. He may go down because he can but tough call. I see Jim making a couple moves pretty soon.

I've just read he won't play during the preseason... not sure about anything longer than that?
- NewYorkNuck

Ohhhhh

well that's not anything different than what Green said at the beginning of camp.

Yeah I agree - Gaudette deserves to be here - he looks much better this year, quicker, stronger on pucks and definitely has more confidence. last year, he didn't have the patience like he showed on the goal last night. At this point he beats out Motte for a place.

That says a lot being that Motte is known for his work ethic and tenacity. If Guad beats him out for a spot I wouldn't be surprised.

I hate it but LE has had a really good camp also. I have him in the line up. Lets hope he can do something this season. Maybe he showed enough value to move him?

I agree, I just think it's a numbers game. Being waver exempt, I could see them wanting to send him down to get half a season of first line minutes in Utica. He's looked better, but still needs a bit more polish and finish in his game. Utica wouldn't hurt his development at all.

And if you're keeping him up here, who goes? It would have to be a bottom six guy, so would 10-12 minutes a night here be better than 20 minutes in Utica for his development?

He shows some good signs, but, is also easily knocked off puck.
Could this kid be Mason Raymond 2.0.

- Reubenkincade

So I turned the game off at 5-1 then Gaudette finally scores to make it 6-1 lol

Just a heads up guys. I bought that SN now app for 20$. So far it has been well worth it for a guy who hasn’t had cable in years. I have been streaming Reddit which is sh!t. No interruptions thus far and crisp picture.

I agree that Gaudette was better vs a very poor Edmonton Oilers squad.

Isn't this kind of like a lot of other players that show well in a couple pre season games. Remember 82 game schedule and TG was talking about how JV played about 40 good games last season but he needs to bring it for 70-80 games.

I don't think Gaudette deserves to be here after one decent pre season game vs a poopty team made up of AHLers

Nothing wrong with more polish in the minors for these bubble players that can go down without waivers. Unless you come in like BB or EP and have that kind of promise. Minors till someone can be traded or gets hurts. Keeping Gaudette means getting rid of someone and there goes the depth.

Good game for D Brogan Rafferty last night in Edmonton but I am hearing he could be on his way to Utica. Showed very well in training camp and pre-season but tough to crack that Vancouver blueline.

Green on Schaller-Beagle-Motte: "That line was really good. I thought they really set the tone tonight. They just play the game really hard. They're good together, they know where their bread is buttered. I thought that line was probably our best line tonight." #Canucks

He's played 3 games and I meant more in terms of personal development - he looks like a much better player than last year.

In that case...

It's just nice to see a line up where Gaudette and Raffy probably aren't making the team. If this was 2 years ago. They both would have been starting from day 1.

Utica will have good young kids leading the team.

Lol. Feeling the hate already huh? Pretty sure the message since the start is he's ready for full contact and practice, but still evaluating and going through his rehab for the knee. They aren't mutually exclusive. It's a progression.

“He just got the OK last week from the doctors and is still doing the rehab,” said Canucks general manager Jim Benning. “They’re just going to make sure they bring him along slowly. They’re not going to throw him into the fire and just see where he’s at day to day.

“There haven’t been any setbacks. He met with the surgeon last week and got a good report. It’s just part of the surgery and we’re just working through it right now to figure out what (camp) group he’s going to be in. There’s a good chance he’s going to be rehabbing and not in one of the main groups at the start.

“We don’t want to put him in a position where he’s going to have a setback. Right now, he’s on schedule to start the year.”
