Despite those saying otherwise, I'm pretty sure he's using Marner's contract as a comparable... and expecting salary in that neighbourhood, right or wrong...
- SofaKingBored

He should be using Marner as a comparable. But Marner also got 2.5 million a season more then Aho, for one more year. So I’m sure Avs like that comparable more. Should be interesting what happens with him and Point.

it's in what the locals call the "Raleigh Weather Dome" where all the nightmarish poop that comes off the ocean hits everything around them but never seems to hit the triangle.
- BINGO!

That’s cool..

Inland life (like Ontario) is boring tho.. I would actually hate Raleigh.. No snow, probably really humid and hot in the summer.. I’m removing it from the list. I’ll substitute the new Seattle team in..

TBH, I have no clue why this "black face" thing is becoming such an issue. It's ALL about the "when".

Doing it now - it's stupid as (frank)...insensitive, sure whatever...but still kinda who cares. I would be much more offended by a KKK costume. The sensitive bullpoop is tiring. If I want to dress up like Hancock because he's my favorite super hero??? That's racist!?!?! I love Will Smith.

Back in the day - it was never considered racist to do it, so anyone that did it wasn't automatically being racist. I went out as a black dude from Soul Train one Halloween. My step dad was black, didn't bother him. I looked funny as hell. It wasn't even remotely done with a tiny bit of racist intent.

Through today's lense it's not even "racist" it's described as "insensitive".

You're not wrong... in the 80's, lots of kids dressed up as Michael Jackson (when he was still black)... but in 2001? A little offside...

Mitchy has to average at least 100 points for the next 3 seasons for this to be a good deal..

I do think some context is necessary too. Dressing up like a specific character or person is a little different than wearing that cartoony "Jim Crow" era blackface.

Really?

Maybe I didn't know because I was a young kid from Scarborough and wasn't racist or sexist or homo ist. (homoist?)

Still don't really think it's racist.....and I consider myself a liberal left....except for guns and...apparently...some of the sensitive race subjects.

I'm just gonna leave it up to the PoC to determine what offends them and not try to make up their minds about it one way or the other... just seems to make sense to me

I’ve lived on lakes all my life and yes, it’s nice for about 2 months of the year, 6 if you’re into winter stuff.. but it has its cons, too. More bugs, more wind, noisy boaters, snow drifts.. I like having water nearby where you can go for an early evening dip.. the Muskoka River was that spot for me this summer.. (frank)in snapping turtles tho lol.

What lakes you do lake enthusiasts enjoy?

It’s just water, Ontario is a poorly drained, craggy, smelly, muskeg..

Good approach.

Not that I'm trying to dress up like Denzel this hallowe'en or anything....just think some of the snow flake name calling is starting to become a little too true for us liberals.

ANYWAY.....GLG. Almost hockey season fellas. Actually enjoying pre season. Was really excited for the season to start this year...more than some other seasons....got a good feeling going in.

It's also the timing that gets me. Not a fan of any of the current parties or candidates, someone obviously paid a ton of money to get that out right at this moment. People shouldn't let themselves be manipulated by conveniently timed attacks. Stick to the issues, build a good platform and stop relying on smear campaigns to get in.

Conservatives seize power by scaring old people.

That’s why I don’t think this will matter much. Old people aren’t offended by blackface.

It pains me to say this but I was just watching the presser with May and... well... she brought up some pretty good points. The green party is starting to be a little bit more thought out.
