One of my favorite Ranger D of all time. Couldn't keep him off the ice for any reason...

Losing Cherepanov and then Sauer really set the franchise back...
- TommyGTrain

I guess with the cap it isn't a guarantee we'd have either one of those guys or had the cap/necessity to get guys like Gabby or Nash, but if we have one of those guys vs the Kings we win right?

Could make the argument we never lose to Devils in 2012 either.

I think if we have Sauer in 2012 vs Devils and 2013 vs Bruins those series could have different results

The shame is the thing that made him so beloved and great is the same thing that shortened his career. I think Torts is responsible for 2-3 years of Girardi's prime being reduced just on how he used him. AV playing him all those minutes was the final nail in the coffin.

Only in prospects. Team was moving forward fairly rapidly during that time. Thanks to some guy named Hank and a felony theft of a trade that landed McD. Other young D guys like G, Staal (pre-eye injury) were keeping things moving along well.

Still, Sauer would have been Ulfy 2.0

If they don't start heavily marketing ADA and Lemieux as the "Bash Bros" i dont know what we're all doing here

I feel like once you lose your skating legs you are almost done in this league. So yea wondering if he is able to get his game back to where it was
- TPC

He had some significant injuries that lingered since he rushed himself back; but no idea what he really has left or if he'll bounce back. He just turned 31 a couple weeks back, so it's not like he's that old (even by hockey standards).

I'm not too optimistic considering he got mildly hurt in his first practice.

Good for the team that he accepted his offer, kind of wish he got a few more bucks just because how good he was for us last year.

So what do you guys think the pairings look like now?

Skeji-Trouba
Hajek-ADA
Staal-Fox?

Asking for a friend, but I think we had Roman Hamrlik, right jimbo...

I believe I am spot on with that one. Just saying.

yeah I'd say so, maybe this Morrow guy wins the job at 7th D for cheap and they keep the other young guys in Hartford for the time being developing

I really want Lias to be much improved. Could you imagine an improved Lias playing with Lemieux? With ADA on the ice at the same time? That would be a fan favorite line if we've ever seen one.

The New York Rangers announced today that the team has reduced its Training Camp roster by four players, as Brandon Crawley, Jake Elmer, Vincent LoVerde, and Darren Raddysh have all been assigned to Training Camp with the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League (AHL).

I think it's totally possible they figure to keep 14 forward and only 6D with Smith being kind of the floater. If they were going to bury him, I think they already would have done it.
