Drouin will have more points ( points, not goal) than Laine this year and mostly lets trade our arguably 2nd best D when we are already very thin on D ?
pass for me - Xizord
drouin has a career high of 53
laine's career low is 50.
drouin outpoints laine only if laine misses games. |

If the Flyers want to trade... I'd be knocking on Calgary's door, before kicking the tires on Laine. Tkackuk is not signed, and it doesn't sound like he'll sign before real games start. I'd name-drop packages for Ghost or Jake and see if that stirs up and interest. Both are signed for a couple more years. Ghost is signed at a very reasonable number. - leon neon
Now, Tkachuk is EXACTLY the type of player the Flyers need. I agree, 1000%.

I think you guys are under-rating Laine.
How many players can shoot like him...ovechkin, matthews, stamkos, eichel? not too many more. and he's what, 21 years old? |

When you look at all the factors, assets they would have to trade, cap space required to sign a player who is currently without a contract and Laine's disappearing act last season, Fletcher should pass on Laine.
------
Fletch would be INSANE to not have a deal done with Laine before pulling the trigger here.
My fear is that they would do something silly like Ghost AND Konecny for Laine. Laine pops off for 40 goals many more times and he will want 11m per year. |

Glad Tony D signed I do think he earned a better paycheck than what he got! |

Sometimes I can't tell the difference between players who sign 36 million dollar contracts and those who sign 1 million dollar contracts. *shrug |

Absolutely. If Philly played their cards right they could have both Gaudreau and Tckachuk. Both Americans that won't like sign their next deals in Calgary. Gaudreau was pretty public about wanting to play in the States when he was negotiating his last deal and Philly was name-dropped.
Philly should be all over Tkachuk. He's a tool but a real good player Philly needs. |

TK, Myers and 1st gets this done. Maybe add another 4th liner to wash out some salary... Raffl or Laughton... Opens up the bottom six for German and Frost makes the team!
Money needs to add up.... Patrick would be dealt but he is marshmallow. |

If jets trade Laine... the return would surely include a quality right side defenceman... which the flyers have none of... they are loaded on the left side... not the right - Kunit

Why Laine is a brilliant player |

People continue to under-value Laine. He has the potential to be a generational goal-scorer, and any trade package would need to reflect that
To PHI: Laine
To WPG: Sanheim, Patrick, 1st round pick

jesus there's nothing "generational" about him. That word gets so grossly overused. |

Not the right...? May be last year. Sanhiem, Nisky, Braunn are all R hand shot. The last two were picked up over the summer. These are the ones that should be in the starting line up. Each line should have a R and a L hand shot. Not to mention, they have several R hand shot in the minors. - leon neon
Sanheim is a LH shot.

Winnipeg would have to give permission for the Flyers to talk to Laine and his agent. What makes you think they'll do that?

Nah! Good goal scorer for sure but his "drought" to put in kindly, has to give some pause. As well as his comments made.

Flyers aren't trading Sanheim let alone in that deal. Flyers are not in the position of trading a young potential top pairing defenseman. - MJL
Nor are they trading two guys they just signed to 6 year extensions. Next offseason? Sure, that’s totally Flyers, but not one week after signing them. It would look awful. |

probably 20 players in the league who've had that term attached to them in some way. It's such a lazy word to use |
