I agree with Stecher, he's good enough for what he brings, there are just people coming up that do as much or a little more than him for what will be cheaper. Good problem to have. - NewYorkNuck
I think so too good problem.

lol ya thing us we are just trading a problem for another problem. I'd like to see jake and Tanev packed up to fill another need. Not sure Poolyarvy is that guy... |

Have we not come to the conclusion yet that cheaper 3rd pairing D are cheaper for a reason. 2-3 million dollar Dman are legit 3rd pairing D.
The Kings gave Hutton 1.5. |

I don't mind Stecher at 2 mil . I don't like him at 3.5 |

Too much like exchanging Gudbranson for Schenn for me to make that deal.
Flyers need bodies and have 1.1 in cap space with needing 2 players.
Laughton (2.3) plus pick or prospect for Virtanen and Goldy
Zacha (2.25) plus pick or prospect
Sobotka Buf keeps 1.4 M and Buffalo first (same condition as Van's 1st with TB) - manvanfan
I'm genuinely curious as to your reasoning: why does Virtanen bring back more than Zacha? Both are former 6th overall picks who haven't brought the offense they were expected to but Zacha is younger, has scored more and plays C. Is there something I'm missing on Jake or is it a perceived ceiling thing? |

I would definitely trade Stecher in our own division .
I pity the poor fool that takes him |

Hate to say it but we'll need him when Tanev and Edler are shut down for the year lol |

With some of the underlying numbers he's got going for him, I'll take my chances with him over Jesse. However, getting the rest of the fandom to agree might be tougher. |

I wouldn't do Stech for JP but I would not be afraid to trade him for a better player in our own division.
Pulj is a project with upside so that is why I would do Jake who still really isn't proven IMO |

I really don't put a lot into pre season anymore after the Shirokov dream .
Some traits that I have seen in other seasons with players like Jake and Goldy show up in pre season and regular camp and to me I would be okay with moving on.
I would look at Jake for Puljujarvi who is doing okay . He is a point a game this year.
I also would be okay with moving on with Stecher seeing he is going to want a raise next year and I think by then Rafferty will be ready. Stecher Goldy and OJ for Ristolainen and a third. I think Briesbois has passed OJ in the depth chart now. - VANTEL
Sure, why not? |

I am not sure how much injury time Tanev will have . He was spitting chiclets last year beacause of a fluke shot . I don't think he will be blocking as many shots this year. Just a hunch.

Jake will score 20 with the right TOI and line mates but I fear Green won't have the patience with him. I'm betting Goldy and JV are in Greens doghouse inside 6-12 games. |

They are in the doghouse now . Greens comments after the game last night were pretty well directed at those two. |

Here's hoping he's healthy for 70 games but man that guy just doesn't have the luck. |

Issue is I don't know that I'd do Jesse for Jake. Since I lean negatively on Jesse and semi-positively on Virtanen, it's close for me. The fact that we'd be trading him within our division would likely sway me toward refusing. |
