im just hoping he's on a hot streak come playoff time
- daeth

Same though I think if we can rest him a bit more, have a solid backup to take a few more games off his plate where we can trust them, I think we should be good there.

The most important part, for sure. They need to avoid game 7's for as long as possible.

Agostino is looking good too out there, tryin to get noticed and making a bit of a mark in this game with an assist already and some more good work
- Roadrunner75

I agree that both Sandin and Agostino have stood out.

Liljegren hasn't really impressed yet.

I find for every 1 thing that Timashov does well, he does something else poorly.

I thought I'd be more impressed with Shore's decision making or ability to be solid on the puck.

I like the way Mikheyev handles the puck - but I'm surprised he stood out to Babs so much that he insisted they try and sign him. His skating is awkward. He sort of reminds me of Antropov with his ungainly stride.

He should just stick to passing, I guess.

Oh I totally agree there I think Lilly has played himself right back to the Marlies. Sandin looks ready.

I mean we have 5 of 7 locked up on the D counting Dermott but I think Sandin and Harpur would be my two to keep once Dermott comes back. I think it will likely be Sandin, Harpur, Marincrap making the 7 up to start till Dermott comes then Marincrap goes down and Harpur becomes the 7 sitting unless we want the more physical aspect in there.

Mikhaeyev I haven't been impressed with or Shore honestly. Timashov isn't seeming to do enough. I think Agostino, Read, Goat, Spezza are gonna make up that bottom line there really at this point. Kind of want to see what Marchment and Bracco do as well here next chance, both did ok, like to see them step up and REALLY stand out next game.

Matt Read excellent on the PK. He’s getting a contract from Babs.

I keep hearing “Lazar” but I couldn’t quite put my finger on it until I saw it in writing.

Wow, what happened? Didn’t he play for CGY, too?

Colaiacovo trying to pronounce Tlusty this morning on First Up was funny.
Guy played with him but couldn’t pronounce his name reacting to the PoMo comment about Toronto, lol

I've liked Read as well. I think the biggest problem is that they're at 49 contracts. If Neuvirth impresses - unless they trade an existing contract for a pick - Read will have to _really_ impress to force their hand on the trade.

So here is what I got so far

Hyman - Matthews - Nylander
Kapanen - Tavares - Marner
Johnsson - Kerfoot - Moore
??? - Gauthier - ???

Extra Fwd ???

Spezza, Mikhayev, Read, Timashov, Agostino, Marchment, Bracco battling for 2-3 spots

Defence

Reilly - Ceci
Muzzin - Barrie
Dermott - Sandin

Harpur

Thinking Marincin and Harpur remain till Dermott gets back. Nobody else seems remotely close to being useable and making a mark. Lilly is definitely gotta go back to the Marlies he has looked horrible.

And I HATE both our backups!

He was great at the WJC for Canada. I think he was an Alpha at that time, but when his peers caught up to him his skill set seems “just ok”

W/O Hyman or Dermott to Start:
Johnsson - Matthews - Nylander
Kapanen - Tavares - Marner
Mikheyev- Kerfoot - Moore
Agostino - Gauthier - Spezza

Defence

Reilly - Ceci
Muzzin - Barrie
Marincin - Schmaltz

Andersen - Neuvirth

I think their cap issues may let them carry 1 extra player that they'll move around. I pick Marincin on the LD side because he's at $700k while Sandin is at $900k, and Sandin could still use a year being "the man" on the Marlies.

When Hyman comes back, he'll replace Kapanen on the Tavares line, and push Kapanen into Moore's spot, and Moore displaces Agostino on the 4th.

When Dermott comes back, initially at least, he probably takes out Marincin, and then you wonder if he can swap spots with Ceci.

Waste of money. Crush up a Tylenol 3, Montana it. Cleans it out and pairs nicely with beer.
