Aube-Kubel is a much better option for that role. Hopefully Pitlick can be healthy in time to save the organization from the embarrassment of having Chris Stewart in the roster in 2019.

No other way to spin it. It would be a complete embarrassment.

Stewart is cooked. If he's on the opening night roster it's a pretty bad sign. I don't care who is injured.

"They have no choice," Vigneault said. "That's just how it is."

They're just flat out of excuses this year. Heaven forbid they get out the gates slow, yet again, and limp into Thanksgiving near the cellar of the Metro.

In my opinion, they’ve been out of excuses going on two seasons now.

The Ghost-Braun pairing his been the best in camp so far.
- bmeltzer

Would that be the 2nd or 3rd pairing ? Do you think that pair starts The season together?

He won't be in the top nine. Would be the 12th or 13th forward if he makes it. Yesterday, AV talked about him -- if he makes the team -- being a 6,8, maybe 10 minute type depending on the night. That's a 4th liner.

The coach has zero attachment to either players.
If he is a better Option for the role they want he will get it. It’s real simple

No 14 tonight (or 50 or 24) makes lines rather tricky to discern, but I will venture a guess. A little easier to guess the D. Vigneault will speak at 5 p.m.

49- 28 - 11
25 - 13 - 93
81 - 48 - 23
12- 21- 44

9 - 15
8 - 6
55 - 59

79 (S: pds 1-2)
35 (3rd pd)

Love the Vigneault quotes ... such a refreshing change from Hakstol.

That’s too bad about Patrick, I like the kid but I’m becoming more and more disenchanted with that pick. Nothing we can do about it now, hopefully he’s better soon.

Gonna be a good year, playoffs are in the cards

Not worried at points-per-game per se. Frost had 103 points after 52 games in OHL last season -- right on the cusp of 2 points per game. Didn't make it a "lesser" season because he hit a mini-slump by his standards near the end.

With O'Brien, I want to see him stay healthy and be consistently the best player on his team. The stats will take care of themselves, whatever the precise PPG is.

New NHL quality coach, the addition of a legitimate second line center in Hayes, a full season of Carter Hart, an expected bounceback year from Provorov and Gostisbehere and some kids (thank you Ron Hextall) that look outstanding.

I hope you are right, I still see a team lacking speed, overall. The two teams in the division that I thought they could finish ahead of both improved. I keep thinking about that stretch last year when they could not buy a goal and I see no reason why more of those could not occur

Proven winning coach and experienced assistants.
Improved 2nd line center, improved D with Nisk and to a lesser extent Braun.
Full year of Hart.

Could keep listing multiple things that are encouraging or reasons to be excited. I don't think they are a lock to win it all or even get that far but if you can honestly say that on paper this team is not better at all levels then anything recenlty then I'm not sure what to say to that

In Flyers parlance that probably means his knees exploded and he is on life support at Cooper awaiting last rights.
