Aube-Kubel is a much better option for that role. Hopefully Pitlick can be healthy in time to save the organization from the embarrassment of having Chris Stewart in the roster in 2019. - Feanor
Why would it be embarrassing if Stewart were to make the team? You don’t offer out tryouts if you aren’t open to having a player make your roster.
As for the organization as a whole, I think it was embarrassing enough to have players named Phil Varone, Corbin Knight and Justin Bailey play nightly for you last season. Bring on Chris Stewart so none of us ever has to see that again. At least we know who Chris Stewart is. |

Chris Stewart is getting Shelleyed and the season hasn't even started. - Gogol
When I read the comments that I read daily and get into the arguments that I do, I can’t help but believe I’m on an island by myself. You couldn’t go any lower than what we saw last season in terms of depth. Like, did some of you take a year off? |

Don't they have a bunch of LTIR money? |

Yes but I thought it was only once the season started. I was thinking they needed to be cap compliant before placing bodies on LTIR to start the season. |

Really simple, every coach hired can eventually be fired, even the really good ones. The Ranger record had very little to do with AV's coaching, more to do with the GM. There does seem to be a shelf life with coaches as players seem to tune them out if they have been there too long. Not a bad thing for sure, if the leafs for example struggle or get knocked out of the playoffs in round one even Babcock could be dumped. Personally he is one guy who is only effective for a couple years and then he starts annoying everyone, jmo - joegreif17
It's a safe bet that every coach hired will eventually be fired. My point is that being a really good coach does make one immune from bull poop nor does being fired make a coach bull poop. |

You're talking about a guy who gave up a chance to play in the 2nd best pro league in the world (KHL) because he's a picky eater and didn't want to acclimate, choosing to go to England instead. Sound like a guy who will do anything to keep playing/win? |

When the NHL began to Phase out fighting, I was here. The point at that time, at least from the Flyers standpoint was to get guts like Riley Cote and Jody Shelley off the roster because they simply weren’t good hockey players. They skated their first shift of the period and ended the game with four total minutes of ice time. Reasonable. Comparing Chris Stewart to Jay Rosehill, Riley Cote, Zac Rinaldo or Jody Shelley isn’t the same thing. |
