Eh. Patrick Sharpe wasn't any good until like his 4th or 5th season and even then, I see no comparison.

He's more like a poor man's Backstrom, who while himself is underrated, would not have even close to the stats he does if he didn't play with Ovechkin.

I'd love to see how Backstom's career would have went without one of the 2 or 3 greatest goal-scorers of all-time on his left wing for his whole career.

Vesey, Eichel, Skunk gelled very well. I agree, Vesey should have signed here first and
Capitalized on the chemistry he already had with Eichel but who’s to say external forces didn’t play a huge role in his decision(namely his farther I’ve read)

Most under-rated player ever? That's not true. At all.

If Jack had a player like Ovechkin on his wing, he would have 120+ points per year. I'm saying that if Sam had a player like Ovechkin, his stats would look similar to Backstom's. Who has only hit 100 points once. And not even come close since. And actually, aside from that 100 point season, I can't see Sam's stats being too far removed as long as he keeps trending up and we keep adding depth and skill.
