FWIW, I personally think that Tragically Hip are pretty mediocre, at best.

I'm far from being their #1 fan but this is a ridiculous post

I'm Canadian and can't stand them either. Not gonna deny that they're is plenty of talent in the band but I don't like Gord Downey's voice. At all.

Is Hayton considered to be a better prospect than Frost?
- ClaudeFather

Having seen both guys play regularly with the Greyhounds, Frost is the more dynamic offensive talent especially in the playmaking department. Two-way upside as well but still developing. Hayton is a little more complete right now, future captain heart-and-soul type of upside.

A lot of cool tunes.....listened to a lot of them during university days. Saw them live a bunch and always had a blast....different strokes I guess.

THere are plenty of reasons
- daryl stanley

There no reasons. Morin is a former #1 pick at under 1 mill. There is no risk to claiming him off waivers and hoping he reaches his potential.

This should be interesting watching the Bruins broadcast.

How long do we think everyone will last before they mute their TV because Jack Edwards is making everyone homicidal?

You keep thinking there are no reasons.

If he wasn’t a former pick no one would ever mention him at this point.

Its a no brainer and why the Flyers will not send him down.

Yeah ok. He has shown so much to make a team give him a spot over what they already have. So much potential still 6 years later

Yes being a former 1st round pick matters. He didnt get up there in the rankings by good luck luck. He got there by skill. Morin is still just 24 years old. He had some injury issues the past 2 years and missed about 2 years worth of hockey. That set his development back but at the same time he almost made the Flyers team before getting injured.

If I am a GM. Why wouldnt I grab a free 24 year old former first round pick? Worst case scenario he replaces an older 3rd pair player or you waive him later. There is no risk involved.

A 1st rd pick 6 years ago. Big fn deal. He is a bust at this point. Use any excuse you want it won’t change that fact.

Well you wouldn’t grab him because he hasn’t shown he is an Nhl dman for starters. You answered it as well hasn’t played in 2 years. Other Teams have their Version of morin.

You will be hard pressed to find a team in October give him a top 6 role. Maybe as a 7th and as I said all along it’s no slam dunk he gets claimed; far from it.

Few thoughts about camp so far.

-Hart is the best goalie in camp, which is important for a kid we’ve already deemed as number one, a second year player and Elliott could have very well took his job if Hart was unable to play to the expectations he’s already set.

-I think too much is being made of Robert Hagg being our worst defender. Morin isn’t better than Hagg but this doesn’t mean Morin can’t surpass Hagg on the depth chart as anytime.

-All Acquisitions have impressed.

-Too much being made of Stewart trying out. If the Flyers didn’t have Stewart here seriously competing for a spot, then who does NAK compete with? Stewart being here isn’t embarrassing or gross. Oddly, for Stewart, it’s still looking like it could go either way.

-Myers has probably been our best defenseman all camp long.

Myers has been meh.

Provorov has been the best d-man in my opinion.

I think Myers has been very good. Even tonight he had to stand up and force a puck out of the defensive zone because our winger on the play couldn’t.

Edit

I feel like he plays like a 5 year vet.

I don't think he's going to get waived. They'll move him for some sort of pick before they lose him for nothing.

But will they lose him?

That seems to be the crux of the discussion.
