Probably, but we know what we're getting with Johansson. We don't with the other 3 I just mentioned.

If olo stays with Eichel and Reinhart he'll pot 20. Different year, same center questions. I think Mojo will be ok. But 35 points doesn't get it done from 2C. He needs at least 50

As expected, it looks like Cousens is back to the WHL and Asplund is bound for Rochester. This is simply wrong. They have both played better than Okposo, Girgs, Sobotka and THompson this preseason.

Why do these coaches/GM's all say at the beginning of the training camps that "nobody's job is safe" and "if a player steps up, there will be room on the roster for him." It's all B.S.

- SabreWest

I guess coaches/GMs can't please everyone. Sending Cozens to the WHL and Asplund to the AHL seems to be the right move by the majority as not to rush players. Apparently we have a problem with rushing players (ie Mitts) even though no one can bring up any other player that this regime has rushed. Maybe they don't want a repeat of the Mitts situation from last season.
I for one don't agree with Cozens playing in the WHL, because I don't think it will improve his game at all playing against a lot of 16/17 year olds. It does give him the opportunity to grow and get stronger though, which is a good thing.

Have to figure injuries will play the biggest role there. If he can play 70 games or more, he's got a shot, if not, going to be hard if not impossible.

Ones a UFS the other is signed for three more years, its, like the Skinner trade, if Jeff had term no way we get him for what we gave up IMO.
- Sabres1523

If the rumors are true that they had a trade with Anaheim for Kase that Faulk rejected, then this trade looks bad. Not being a fan of Faulk I don't think it's a horrible deal, but I would have thought that the picks they swapped should have been flipped.

Not discounting your point about injuries, but adding that linemates could factor in as much. Would like to see: Skinner Eichel Vesey
Olofsson Johansson Reinhart

I hope the nacho bar has a good attorney, because Botterill is going to be assaulting it quite a bit based on this lineup

Gerbe is 8.5% body fat so he's gotta be pretty fast. Laine is a Viking so his axe will hit hard but wield slowly

Laine scores all 40 goals in one game. Then goes -389 the rest of the season.

By augmenting corporate expectations through synergistic roster building and an organizational commitment to Sobotka

Seems like the final judgement is set for Asplund. He's likely heading back to Rochester to start. Lazar might be, too. Guess we'll see if they are in the lineup on Saturday, but they've been playing on the 5th line the past few days. Perhaps it's because they were never slated to play tonight. But tonight's lineup is completely NHL except for some defensive fill in due to the four guys missing plus Hunwick, who is done wearing the blue and gold.

Olofsson is on this roster. Means one guy is going away. Thompson and Wilson are probably those top candidates, but why must we stick him with slob. I know they've liked him a lot during camp.

It was gonna be a long shot for Asplund to make the team from the start

The success or failure of this team hinges on a few players up front: He Who Is Morbidly Obese, Oloffson, and Tage Thompson. If those guys don't put up meaningful numbers, it won't matter how much or little of Lockport we see on the bottom six.

It also hinges on usage of some players and line optimization

Also can the goaltending go from awful to average
