Provy was a top ten pick playing the way a top ten pick should. No rocket surgery there.

Sanheim is another first rounder who is playing the way a first rounder should but nothing crazy.

Lindblom is ok as a fifth, but if he disappeared in the night the Flyers will be exactly the same

TK is a first rounder who is playing as he should, maybe a little worse considering he has seen a lot of ice with Giroux.

Let’s talk about O’brien Maybe Rubtsov? Laberge?

disagree with the Swedish jew. That was a very good find.

If every draft pick worked out there wouldn't be anyone in the league over 26yo. Every team misses on picks. Some players have different maturing timetables than others. Its that simple. Patrick was a consensus top 2 or 3 pick. If $hit happens that cannot be controlled, we just have to resign ourselves to it and move on and not complain about stuff that is irrelevant. I for one still think we haven't heard the last of NoPa - not by a long shot.

Hate to be that guy but can we move the draft to 6 or 7pm? I will not be able to do it at 5pm. If not, no worries i will do my best or have someone draft for me.

I know it's only preseason but I feel like our D zone has looked worlds better than last year.

It does seem that for the most part there is already more cohesion in the zone and on the PK.

Having Hart back there doesn't hurt.

Fletcher on Stewart: "Chris has scored quite a few NHL goals. He’s got a lot more skill than people give him credit for. He’s a really good skater, esp straight line. Brings the elements of being a quality power forward. He continues to get better and deserves to be here.”

so we are ruling out all first rounders that have done well so far. got it.

I’m just saying that these were all obvious choices where Hextall chose them. Nothing groundbreaking.

For as many picks as he hoarded, he should have mor to show for it.

Hart? Whatta bust-a-roni! Flyers need to draft better goalies, ones that don't ever give up a goal.

If he stays on a PTO and doesn't play in real games, then it's not so bad.

I'll just try not to focus on the way Fletcher is using his role as GM to do favors for plugs and goons that he knew in Minnesota, instead of building the best team possible.

- Feanor

Fair enough. Let’s see how it plays out. But we all know what happens when the injury bug hits and/or the team goes through a bad stretch and a change is made to shake things up. Lots of reasons for that player to get on the ice.

What a man does with a goose in his spare time is his business and nothing to be ashamed of.

Hey, I don’t care what happens between a man and his goose, but apparently it’s something Fletch might not want people having a gander at.

Other than Hart, who were the great picks?
- acd513

dude are you serious? just give it up. hart has looked good but he has only 31 games under his belt. according to you Hart is great, but other guys with more accomplishments like provy, sanheim, lindblom, TK, etc etc, dont look great?

So there aren't mines you have to avoid in the first round? I mean cmon look at guys like Pavel Zacha, Nail Yakupov, Valeri Nichushkin, Sam Bennett, and thats just to name a very small amount but there are plenty of examples of busts in the first round and in the top 10 that didn't pan out. It still takes good scouting and drafting to navigate around those types of players. i seriously don't understand, of all things!, the bashing of hexy's drafting

And having a guy score 15+ goals and 30+ points in his first full season in the NHL as a 5th rounder really isn't all that impressive, either.

Sweet, I'm pumped we got a full league! Fantasy is so much fun and so easy. In case anyone hasn't played before.. some pointers, download the yahoo fantasy app on your phone and do a mock draft before our main draft on Oct. 5, the draft is key to a good season and you get a feel for which players are ranked best.
