Wood makes any of those lines worse. I'm not even confident he's better than Hayden, even with the limited action we've seen from Hayden. The only way you fit in Wood is if you move Boqvist to the right, or move Coleman to the RW and bump Simmonds to the 4th line. - MartysBetter88
IDK, Wood is a lot faster then Hayden and has produced decently on the NHL level. Hayden is tougher, slower and unproductive. Probably better defensively but I don't think either is good that way. Hayden has played some PK but not impressively other then shot blocking.
I think Boqvist is probably better off with Wood if your looking for offense. If your looking for a defensive 4th line you might be better off with Hayden. Zacha is fine either way.

I'm hoping the season starts with:
Hall-Hischier-Palmieri
Gusev-Hughes-Simmonds
Boqvist-Zacha-Bratt
Coleman-Zajac-Hayden/Wood
Vatanen-Subban
Butcher-Severson
Greene-Carrick
Mueller, Tennyson
Schneider
Blackwood
50/50 split of games - CardiffGiant
Have to agree with this. Maybe swap Bratt and Simmonds but it does make our 3rd line dangerous and 4th defensively responsible with Hayden more then Wood... although I'd go with Wood.
I'd assume Schneider gets more starts unless the run of play starts to dictate a change to Blackwood. |

Hayden supposedly is a smart hockey player. I'd pick smarts over speed any day. Especially with the stacked, speedy team we already have. |

I'm sure it'll get worked out and the second somebody gets hurt this won't be a question anymore. They'll both be playing.
Hynes likes Haynes so you're probably right. |

Yeah, I'm not sure what being "smart" has to do with anything. If the guy sucks it doesn't matter how intelligent he is.
You guys liking Hayden because of his grit/60 when he is actually useless. Wood has had a terrible camp but has shown signs of production in the pass. Hayden is a 23rd player that you keep on the roster to fill when needed. |

To be fair, it was in comparison to Miles Wood.... Just saying.
I don't care how smart Hayden is, he isn't very good. |

Have you ever heard either describe a player as not smart?
I mean that's like when your mom tells you how handsome you look or when you tell your girlfriend she doesn't look fat in something. Or when the Rangers say they play in the worlds most famous arena... as in not (frank)ing objective or reliable. |

If hayden is so bad, why sign him? There must have been some reason why. They say he plays an all around game and is really smart. Not my words, theirs. |

They traded for him. Also why do you read into what the coaches say? you think they are going to say he's a (frank)ing moron or something? the guy is an AHL plug. |

A trade, even worse! They gave up assets for a useless POS. Oh why? The madness?! |

They didn't give up assets. They gave up Q. Who they clearly gave up on (which is completely understandable). They thought our team was too soft (also reasonable) and Gabriel signed with Philly. We thought someone gritty would be a helpful add. Hayden has been about as underwhelming as Q so Chicago was happy to move him. We traded our loser for someone else's loser. Only difference is our loser was drafted higher and puts up a lot of points at the AHL level. Their loser was better at getting punched in the face and not playing like a wussy.
So there is that.
There's no point in arguing about it. We can just watch Hayden display his brilliance tonight vs. Columbus. Enjoy! |

He doesn't even seem good defensively. Maybe he'll grow on me but the only nice thing I can say about his game is he's willing to get his face punched. |
