Did he, though? I'm not saying you're wrong, and I'm not saying Slowposo is damn slow. But at what instance, throughout the entirety of training camp, did Asplund jump out to you and you say.. wow. He's looking sharp.

I'd contend that even Cozens had a better camp than Asplund.

It's a matter of fact that Thompson deserves to be on the team over Okposo, even by the made up standard of "the kids have to be 100x better than the incumbent to win the spot."

Moulson wasn't sent there until mid-season. Any loan isn't going to happen until the regular season starts.

I’m still a Lazar guy. I know there are a dozen Major Jr guys we can rattle off who we’re good there and couldn’t hack it in the NHL but I think with consistent time and line mates like Asplund/ Tage/ ERod he will complete the best 4th line we’ve seen in years. If it doesn’t happen this year so be it but it would be a shame for sure

Wait, what all around game are you referencing with players like Okposo, Scandella, and Sobotka? They have one?

Asplund, Lazar, and Gilmour have shown more in the preseason games than the group I mentioned above showed at almost any point last year.

I’m still a Lazar guy. I know there are a dozen Major Jr guys we can rattle off who we’re good there and couldn’t hack it in the NHL but I think with consistent time and line mates like Asplund/ Tage/ ERod he will complete the best 4th line we’ve seen in years. If it doesn’t happen this year so be it but it would be a shame for sure
