This obsession with the 4th line never ceases to amaze me. It's a new coach in a new system. Do I expect the results to be better for some of these guys? No, but I am not going to kill someone for giving them the chance. Besides, for all we know some of these guys are going to be watching the game from the press box.

Personally, I thought the 4th line did pretty much exactly what you needed them to last year. Where the roster was piss poor was lines 2 and 3, and it seems to be the same way this year. We're going to struggle with secondary scoring.
Need the goalies to be better for the duration of the season as well. They started out the season pretty well last year and then when our scoring started to struggle starting in December, so did our goaltending.
The roster is still currently underwhelming in a lot of ways, but it's not as easy for the organization to waive someone like Sobotka and send them to the AHL. You have to also think about how that looks to other guys around the league and what kind of reputation you want your organization to have.
