If you believe in Cozens next year, you bring in a proven RW this year to make some noise, even at the expense of a 1st - jcragcrumple
A 2021 first rounder maybe. |

Well, the good news is that we have a legit defense. Now our QB needs to stop being an idiot. |

I'm on the fence if Mitts is going to be the guy we thought he could be.
This year is big for him...gotta show some signs of life.
If so, Cozens could then slide right and I'd be good with that. - IonSabres
My hope is that mitts is just more like Sam, development wise. We all know how that turned out, and still improving. |

Well they are playing a very good D, not like the Giants.
Belichick makes most young QBs look silly.
That said, let's see what the 2nd half brings...after someone else on Bill's D makes another play. - IonSabres
How bout we expect something from somebody on the offensive side of the ball other than Gore |
|
|
|
He's also spent 2nds and 3rds at a high rate. He's nickle and diming his way to organizational mediocrity - jcragcrumple
That's his game right now. He doesn't have internal replacements, so he spends mid round picks rather than make significant UFA investments.

Sure, I'm all for it.
Just that theO is a work in progress with a young QB.
D is the backbone of the team, and unfair as it is, they need them to rise to the occasion by making some great plays to help the O.
Nothing new. |

Then why are they pulling Knox out after an amazing catch for Lee on 3rd down... am I missing something? |

And that's why we see Roch stocked with has-beens and never-weres. |

Well, we do know that the D has been stocked rather nicely between Roch, College, JRs, and Europe.
Next draft or 2 it would not be unreasonable to expect him to go after more forwards.
Rome wasn't built in a day. He has done well in drafts it looks like.
Time will tell. |

I'm so goddamn sick of people talking about patient jason Botterill while simultaneously giving him credit for obtaining Sheary, Vesey, Beaulieu, Scandella, wilson and Sobotka (part of the pending 10 UFA class!!!) and not giving him poop for giving up assets to acquire disposable players.
He gets the benefit of the doubt for middling the rebuild while taking no actual shots to make us a contender |

Most GMs build in 3 drafts. He's middled this rebuild and spent mid round assets on mediocre players. He wont actually commit to winning, but he's spent more than his fair share of assets. Building the right way is not an accurate description of what he's done |

Corporate management, now he has a coach who can spin his minimal changes.

He had to literally tear down a botched rebuild that Murray F'd up before he could start the new build.
Much easier to build a new building on a cleared field then it is to demolish an old one as well as to do all the proper land development before pouring the foundation.
We all know this season is going to be a long one to get through with all the scrubs remaining on their last contract year.
I too would love to see guys like Gilmour, Lazar, Asplund rather than Scandy, Girgs and Sobotka. That said, are they really going to drive the 13 extra points needed to contend?
Nope. |

Can spend a few 3rd rounders on talent that can help the roster take the next step now or we can spend in free agency/deal our whole prospect pool to try to win quickly. Botts is taking a methodical approach to team building without splurging multiple assets to do so. |

Agree to disagree.
You want the building demolished, land prepped and foundation poured in the same time it takes to pour the foundation on a green field.
Not happening. |

I'm in construction management. I understand how these things work. He didn't budget properly. He spent the contingency on players we're ready to go to UFA |
