Richards mentioned he and Lavy really didn't get along and that Lavy always viewed Pronger as the Captain, despite teammates in the room knowing it was Richards. Said there was a slight disconnect over it.
As for being shipped out, he was told Carter was being traded to Kings. Eventually he was told he may get traded and said hey if they dont want me idc ship me out. He essentially took Carter's spot in the LA trade, then Carter was shockingly shipped to CLB. Richards felt if that team was kept together we would have won a cup - arichardson22

kevin hayes first line center - 2Real
Actually it is pretty clear that whatever line Couturier is centering is the first line. I don't care if he is playing with two high schoolers. Whoever plays with him sees an uptick in production.

I see what you did there. Lol - youarewrong
And, if you blitz the French in the first ten minutes and score a couple quick ones, they tend to roll-over the rest of the game. |

Within hockey circles, Ho Sang is almost universally considered almost uncoachable and a difficult teammate to play with. Sprong is regarded as a one-trick pony. - bmeltzer
That “one trick” is scoring goals, something the Flyers are not doing so well.

Interesting. Was thinking the other day, as much as we got for those two guys and in view of Richards issues, the team has had very limited success since that time. I know losing pronger set is back a lot, but in retrospect, we weren't able to take a step forward on terms of playoff success after that trade.

Ohhh yeahhh. 14 goals.
Guy really lights it up.

Well this is the beauty of ice hockey, if the team plays as a unit and on the same page they tend to beat teams that look more talented on paper.
A team could have 12 former 50 goal scorers, but if they don't play the roles needed to be successful then they don't do squat. - Glak18
Well put. |

I think they were in a better position after the trades however made some detrimental moves the following season.
Repeated failed attempts to replace Pronger, trading JVR and letting Jagr walk ruined a very good 2011-2012 team. They went big game hunting that off season and scrambled after they came up empty. |

Unless you are a OV level One Trick player that doesn't get around the fact that he isnt't a 200 foot player.
I also dont see space for him when we have 3 prospects that look like they could land a full time spot and also at some point I imagine NoPa will be back. |

OV hits people. Sorry, that's at least two tricks. |

everyone excited about myers starting with the club. I think the patrick injury helps him as he wouldn't be a numbers or cap casualty. A lot of people may be upset if this happens why they work out what to do with Hagg or Morin as both would be picked up if they tried to pass through waivers. And could see myers going down once patrik is healthy due to the numbers. |

I'm not digging breaking up Coots and Giroux, but I can see why AV would do it if he's not happy with what he's seeing on the ice. I expect them to be back together by the end of the month. |

A fair point..
Ov also knows how to celebrate so I guess technically that is a 3 trick player? |

it si interesting and gets voracek to play with him again. G and Hayes 200 ft players. I think Coots will be fine with Lindblom and Konecny. Not sure about jvr with laughts but will see. think this is more of a message to jvr, but he did fine in toronto with 3rd line minutes and 1st pp duty. would also like to see farabee laughts and konecny. A little young line, but they can all skate. |

There is no “They should be embarrassed but it’s just preseason”, there is only “They should be embarrassed”. Have some balls. Show some pride!
I’m not even just talking about the players and organization. Stop letting these guys off the hook. |

Not with Bryz in net, lol.
They gave up on Bob too early, but he's not a money goalie in the playoffs even now. |

With the 12 forwards they have right now I really don't care what the lines are unless Farabee is getting buried on the 4th. That would just be a waste of a 19 year old.

Yeah, in retrospect he was still the right option to go with though. Man the team went completely off the rails during that timeframe. Jvr for Schenn, sign bryz dump Bob, dump Bryz. FFS. |
