He said he was young and a good bit of the team was young. He said he didn't sign the Dry Island thing because he knew he wouldn't keep his promise and felt that if he did (sign it) and didn't keep the promise of not drinking he would be a liar to the team.

Overall he spends most of his time fishing and playing golf nowadays. He gets to some games here and there but isn't involved in the game much (and it doesn't sound like that will change).

Didn't want to discuss the Lombardi stuff with the Kings.

He told some funny stuff about Hitchcock too.

That's a lot of verbal gymnastics for basically saying "I won't quit partying for my job or my team", which is what it came down to. Sounds like he needed some help years before the career went down the tubes.

Thank you and I will take a listen for myself by the link that was posted. I like Mike Richards. I have a Richards jersey but man was that team tough to watch on Matinee weekend games under Richards.

I’m hoping Twarynski and Bunnaman can be what they were in the preseason all season but I have my doubts. I think we’re taking a gamble like last season. They did earn it though.

Yah.Always the risk you take with playing rookies.
In place of those two who would you have rather scene and I dont mean that in a snarky way.

I’m saying the coaching staff virtually made the right choices. It doesn’t mean we won’t have another depth problem for like the 6th straight season. I’m hoping this isn’t the case.

It was a great listen, very interesting. I think the chiclets guys mostly do a good job on these interviews.

Actions have consequences. If the Vets are phoning it in send a message by making everyone bag skate. If the effort is not acceptable, everyone suffers. This will wake them up especially when all the other guys start to get fed up.
- xShoot4WarAmpsx

Bag skates don't work in the NHL.

Did Richards say anything about his partying and his career crashing and burning? Did he say anything about constantly snapping at the media?

Would prefer Myers over Hägg, but I’m sure Myers will be up soon enough. I guess the coach wasn’t kidding when he said Myers wasn’t a shoe in.

The fact Myers was the only guy that didn't have to pass through waivers made it really hard for him to make the team imo.

I still think he should be up at some point this year given how he performed in the past.

What I'm really interested to see is how often they work Morin into games. He needs to be playing, but he also needs to show that he belongs.

My personal opinion is that it is Myers play that is keeping him off the roster at this point. They had every reason to keep Farabee but he apparently on the team for now.

From what I understand, Myers is waiver exempt, thus making him the guy to get sent down. Once they work through which Dman gets moved, he will be back up. As Bill said in a previous post, Felch will be making many moves over the course of the first few weeks, as new injuries, possible trades, and players come off injured reserve are shuffled around. Opening night roster is being dictated by current conditions, cap, and league constraints, and not necessarily set in stone.

Unless Pitlick or Patrick are coming off ir soon, we are preparing to make a move. 11 forwards doesn't make sense.

I dont read it like that. I read it like it is. He's not going to vow to something and not hold to it. There was no reason why they needed to stop drinking socially. Dry Island was a massive mistake by Laviolette.

Seems to me that you're assuming that it is definite a defenseman gets moved.

It makes sense in sending a cap compliant roster to the league coming out of camp.
