I dont read it like that. I read it like it is. He's not going to vow to something and not hold to it. There was no reason why they needed to stop drinking socially. Dry Island was a massive mistake by Laviolette.

Really! So what kind of drinking were they doing? What proof do you have that their partying was affecting the on ice product? The team went to the Stanley Cup finals that season. Richards and Carter were both 1 & 2 in both overall scoring and in goals scored that season for the Flyers. Mike Richards was 4th overall in the NHL in playoff scoring.

They were a shootout loss from missing the playoffs entirely, dude.

They completely underachieved the following year with an even better regular season finish than 2010--and the fact that Richards washed up a few seasons later.

Still have not provided any evidence that their drinking effected the on ice product. Still waiting. Richards went on to be a key member of a Cup team.
