great write up Ben. I read the Hickey/Aho comment the way you meant it and agree 100%. I don't want to see Hickey play this year b/c it more than likely means we have at least 2 d-men injured, and if he doesn't play it's just a matter of time before some of the young guys surpass him on the Isles depth chart (Aho, Wilde, and even Hutton). On the upside he is making $2.5 mill a year to play hockey so I will not feel too bad for him. - niteislander
Or it could mean a trade happens. Nothing's really changed with their situation...the Isles still need some extra scoring punch up front, and they still have a surplus of d-men. If Dobson turns out to be dependable, then a player like Leddy can still be moved during the season and Hickey can step up to a 6/7 role. |

Sending down Hickey is completely illogical to me. Boychuck no longer fires his cannons and the same can be said of Leddy and they're still with the team??
Dobson is what 19 old? If he gets more than a 10 game look he'd a be a 6th or 4th because it's a waste to have him here otherwise.
Not sure how Dal Colle made the squad either.
The Brassard signing sems just as stupid as the Varlamov deal but less risky. It's a better option than Tanner Fritz - SpeedDemon99

I really wanted JHS to show up to camp this year and blow everyone away with his play. I was hoping that he would have finally figured out that he can't give the puck away at the blue line, has to go 100% on Back checks and bought into Trotz's Sytem. He still showed the same flashes of brilliance on a few incredible feeds and bursts up the ice, but that last pre-season game he played he stunk. He gave the puck away at the blue line 3 times, no points, and was not particularly aggressive defensively.
he was for sure better than previous stints, but we all knew he was gone after that game. I still hope he handles this the right way b/c at this point he can buy in 100% and figure it out.. or he can go play in Europe. His NHL dream is slowly slipping away at this point. ... Having him all-in on the team would be a match-up night mare for teams. His speed and vision are elite, and I would love for him to finally get it. I am happy he cleared on the off chance that he finally "clicks".
We'll see how he takes this latest set back. |

How exactly does not wanting to get my Richard maimed make me "into some weird poop" |

Biting the head off showed she's down...eating the head is probably a bridge too far down the crazy road |

Is Ho-Sang really that uncoachable as originally believed? Or is this something else? I haven’t been delving much into the Isles. |
