Looking at the thread, I am quite surprised by the lack of MacKinnon picks for Hart. I didn't see one. That's my guy this year.

I also sort of Leafed through it.

Pun fully intended.

Yes. He should have won vs Hall. He could have won last year. He should win this year. Unless Matthews can play to his ability.

There isn't much of a better pick than him on the left cirlce on the PP to take one times. He's getting into that Ovechkin/Stamkos level. I'm really not even exaggerating - check out this goal the other night

Based on my two pools I'm putting a lot of faith in FLA and COL players. Spread it out a bit though:

Mackinnon/Barkov/COL Goalies in one (pts only)
Dadonov/Makar/Kadri in the other (deeper and more categories)
Hoffman in both

Have to love Toronto media. TSN headline story: Shore Replaces Spezza...

Seriously? A fourth line player subs in for another fourth line player and this is headline news? Probably has something to do with the fact that Spezza is old and will not dress in every game.

Please drop the puck so we don't have to read this madness

- Hockey_Reverend

To me Spezza was much better than Shore in pre season.

I’m not sure, maybe there is something from camp and in the locker room that had Shore deserve the nod.

I have Hoffman and Dadonov as well in my one deep pool. Used a low rounder for Tyson Jost, gambling that he'll turn the page this year playing with Kadri.

It doesnt make any sense. Shore sucks, and has always sucked, Spezza clearly adds more, even if it was just for the 2nd PP unit

Sacrificing Shore to take out that nondescript Ottawa player.

Neither of them stood out to be honest.. I thought Spezza would win the job, because he was in the NHL last year.. Shore was out in Russia

I'm pretty evenly spread out with pairs of players on teams. The team I'm heaviest is Minnesota. I have Staal, Zucker and Dumba. Trust me when I say, I wasn't going into my draft expecting that, but they were good picks where I got them. I was actually targeting Dumba though - he is a monster. I think Zucker will have a bounce back year and Staal is a serviceable centerman and we count FOWs. All of my other 27 roster spots are mostly split between 2 teams with the only one off I have being Jake DeBrusk, who I think is going to flirt with 40 goals this year. Check out the run he had at the end of the year and he wasn't on the top PP until 2/3 - 3/4 of the season was over. I'm expecting 35, but that PP time could boost him. I'd keep an eye on him if he's available.

Edit: I also have 3 Lightning (Vasileskiy threw me off down on my roster). I must have another one off somewhere.

I picked him, in one of my leagues. I'm hoping he gets 35 goals..

I picked McJesus to win most awards.

But I did pick MacKinnon to win the Conn Smythe.

He was on pace for 33 last year and like I said, didn't get much PP time till the end. I think he has a true breakout season. He's more underrated than he should be. At least we got one good pick in 2015

You have Colorado winning the cup, let alone even making it! That's bold gigsy.

But I like it!

Its called the Babcock factor.

Babcock is a tool. He has 'his guys'... See Par Lindholm. If he wasn't traded away Par would have played 18 minutes a night in the playoffs...

But, it doesn't really matter. Is Spezza getting PP time? I doubt it. Is he on the PK? No? Does Shore PK? I have no idea. But Spezza will get lots of games in over the season. Fact remains that Dubas hasn't given Babcock the type of players he likes for the bottom 2 lines and the bottom pairing D... 'Heavy' and 'Long' or should I say 'Bab-schlong'??

The most consistent one is probably Gibson. The guy just plays for a junk team.

The pre season games we see is only like a quarter of the battle for a spot.

There is the actual training camp before all the pre season games. Also what goes on off ice/workouts, etc.

I’ll take their word for it for now...we’ll get some good looks for the both of them.

I think Vegas is the best team in the West but I didn't want to pick them.

So I went with a team I think would be close.
