This org considers all skills equally. If "best lineup" means Tage and Casey play on the PK instead of Larsson and Girgensons, that's an opinion that might not win out. Their offensive potential is weighted with other guys that have a 200' game, with less scoring skills.
Sorry, but that's the way it is, and I agree with it, to a point. - TheSabresTaco
What 200' game does Sobotka have? He has a 90' game, at best, and even that is debatable.

As much as I love Goalofsson, this is a tough ask.
I think 18G 13A would be a pretty good rookie year. 20+20 would be stellar. Anything over 50 feels like too much to ask. Jack had 56 in his rookie year and Reinhart had 42. Vanek had 48. Anything in the 40's seems like a great season. - matty12345
31pts would be abysmal, especially if he was on the 1st line with Eichel and Reinhart and PP1 for most of the year. Even if he moved around a bit that would suck. 20+20 is still low unless he never plays with Jack/Sam.
In all of your comparisons, none were 24 with years of pro experience. They also didn't get to play with near-prime versions of themselves. What does rookie Eichel get if he has a better version of himself and Reinhart on his line?
I'll say if he is glued to both Eichel and Reinhart and PP1: ~65pts
One of the two and PP1: ~55pts
Plays with neither and switches between PP units: ~40pts
Athletic ranked the goalie matchups for each team throughout the season from hardest to easiest:
1. Buffalo Sabres
Opposing goalie average tier rating: 2.48
Carter Hutton’s average rating: 3.69
Rating gap: minus-1.21
The Sabres have done a lot well but this has the potential to be a real problem. By nature of playing in the Atlantic Division and consistently facing the likes of Andrei Vasilevskiy, Tuukka Rask, Carey Price and now Sergei Bobrovsky, they’re going to be on the wrong side of the goalie equation on a regular basis. Factor in the low expectations for Hutton and the gap is pretty sizable.

It's far from outlandish to suggest that the three best teams in the NHL are all in the atlantic. That plus a Florida team rolling Bobrovsky makes things very difficult. Any other division and slightly better goaltending and the conversation is a lot different on this team.
