He wanted the 5 year term. I don't think he would have been upset about being a Hab, but he said himself he wasn't 100% comfortable with the idea.

His agent advised him this was the best possible deal he could get, he'd just have to risk moving teams as a result.

It just looks weird because it wasn't the kind of overpay that would have been required for the Hurricanes to even consider taking the picks. I'm sure Aho would have been fine being a Canadiens player, but Bergevin didn't really take the kind of risk required to actually make it happen.

Both statements are true. Our farm team should be competitive this year for the first time in a very, very long time. It's a beautiful thing

1. The Penguins are not that good. At all. I could actually see them finishing outside of the playoff picture

2. People will underestimate the Canes like here but I think they have a nice mix. Might not be as successful as they were last year late in the year but I don’t see them as a last place team

3. I think Columbus drops down to the bottom after losing half their team.

4. The Rags will be fun to watch but I can’t see them making the playoffs this year. Lundquist isn’t remotely good anymore.

I made that before he even added who the other teams were.

Canes are a solid team. Nice scoring. Great defense. Goalie is the weak link, but the D will help.

The Metro is undergoing a change in the guard, but the other young teams like NYR, NJ, and Philly aren’t ready. Maybe one of them steps up. But the Canes youth is ready now, and they should be top 3 for me.
